Course Description/Outline

Participation in this ensemble will provide students with experience in performing

standard works of the concert band/wind ensemble repertoire. In addition, we will
explore wind chamber music. Academic requirements will be minimal. Grading will
be heavily based on attendance and participation. Communication with the instructor
regarding absences is a must.

Students are expected to learn their parts on their own time and outside class.

Performance opportunities will be introduced well in advance to avoid potential

conflicts.
Students are encouraged to express any concerns to the instructor and periodically
inquire about their standings.

Evaluation

A weekly class record will be kept and will be used to determine the final grade. The
final grade will be based on the following:

Class attendance and participation 70%

Preparedness for rehearsals 20%
Professionalism (rehearsals and professional collegial conduct) 10%
