Aims and Objectives

To analyze the performance of Volkswagen in terms of sustainability and focus on the major
challenges faced by the company in entering the electric vehicles market.

Introduction

In this stage of the deliverable, we are more focused on creating connections with the major
employees of the company for analyzing the major goals towards sustainability. Working on studying
the company profile for Volkswagen. Lastly focusing on major challenges faced by the company.

Explain your research

We form our primary interviews and secondary research can say that for the company sustainability
is to pursue social, economic, and ecological objectives with equal energy. The major aim of the
company is the creation of lasting values conserving the resources and providing healthy working
conditions. The major areas of focus for sustainability lie in decarbonization, circular economy,
integrity, diversity, and transformation. The company in the fifth partnership with an international
art exhibition held in Kassel showcased its support for sustainability in June 2022. Also, the company
is providing zero-emission mobility solutions and publishing its standards. The major employees in
the interview stated that the company has a great work environment and is very focused on
delivering the best to its customers.

Further, we have studied the major problems faced by Volkswagen in the electric vehicle market
through the press releases. In one of the news, we came to know that the company faced a major
issue in the car’s software in its flagship model ID.3 (WEHRMANN, 2020). The aim to produce nearly
one million vehicles got thrashed and the mass rollout led to the improvement in the fleet emission,
which was to be reduced for the company to remain under the guidelines of the European Union. To
overcome the loss and maintain sustainability the company announced manufacturing the EVs in
China, but the larger demand and lower production are hitting the company badly (Caixin Global,
2022).

Achievements so far

We were able to crack five primary interviews from different offices across the world. We have
successfully studied the company website, news, and portals for a better understanding of the
company’s position in sustainability and its achievement through electric vehicles.

Steps to complete the project on time

Step 1: The study on the company from all the secondary sources is successfully conducted via
primary and secondary research.

Step 2: Analysis of five interviews is done, the people were first sent the request via LinkedIn and
then the interview was scheduled. All the answers are analyzed together.

Step 3: The next goal is to study in detail the EV market snapshot and hence will be presented in the
second interim.

Step 4: The analysis of the EV market will be done with the company’s performance and future
potential through the press release and available data sources.

Step 5: All the data will be summarized in the comparative analysis and will be presented in the
presentation file.
