Good morning, I bid to our respected judges, our trustworthy timekeeper, and fellow friends.

Today I

would like to tell a story entitled “The Frog Prince”.

Once upon a time there was a beautiful, young princess who one day dropped her golden ball

into a well. She could not reach the ball, and this made her very upset.

There was an ugly frog that happened to be sitting by the well. The frog asked, “What has

happened, princess?”

The princess told the frog, “My favourite golden ball has dropped into the well.”

The frog replied, “Don’t worry, princess. I can get your ball back for you, but you have to

make a promise to me. You have to promise to be my friend and invite me to live in your castle.”

The princess agreed to this, but when she got her golden ball back, she left the frog behind

and ran back to the castle without him.

The poor frog was very disappointed, and he jumped back into the well.

The next day, while the princess was having dinner with the king and his ministers, the frog

came to the castle to look for the princess.

The princess was so scared to see him, and she locked the frog outside the castle gates.

The king asked the princess what had happened, and the princess told him all about it. The

king then ordered the princess to invite the frog to join them for dinner.

The frog came into the room and jumped onto the table and started to eat all the food. The

princess was very upset. However, she thought the frog would leave after dinner. When the princess

found out that she had to play with the frog after dinner, she started to cry.

The king said to the princess: “If you made a promise to the frog, then you must keep your

word.”

The princess picked up the frog with her fingers and took him to her room upstairs. The

princes put the frog into the corner of her bedroom.

As soon as the princess lay down onto her bed, the frog jumped onto her bed, and said: “I

want to sleep on this bed too.”

The princess was very angry and grabbed the frog and threw him off the bed.

As soon as the frog landed on the floor, a bright white light covered the room, the light was so

bright, the princess could not see anything. After a short while, the light disappeared and there she

saw a very handsome man standing in the same place where the ugly frog had stood moments before.

This handsome man was actually a prince of a kingdom far, far away.

The prince had come to tell the princess that an evil witch had cast a spell on him and turned

him into a frog. Only the princess could save him.

The princess became good friends with the prince, and, a few months, they were engaged to

be married.

The day after the wedding, the prince and princess moved to the prince’s kingdom, and they

lived happily ever after.

That is all from me. Thank you for lending me your ears.
