Roles of the Community Health Nurse in e-Health December 9, 2021

Provide a brief description of the following roles that nurses assumes in eHealth
1. Data and Records Manager - nursing notes and care plans can be added into EHRs to
help identify patterns in the care that is provided, and to communicate with the physician
about interventions and outcomes nurses have observed.
2. Change Agent - Any nurse can have a significant impact on needed change within nursing
and transform e-health how it operates. If you see a change that could occur that you think
would have an impact, discuss it with someone who can help to champion your idea and get
it implemented. It will need to be tested to see if it does result in a positive outcome and is
cost effective. Nurses have what is needed to be successful in identifying and implementing
change.
3. Educator - Nurse educators are responsible for designing, evaluating, updating, and
implementing new and current nursing education curriculum. These educational
professionals act as both advisers and role models for the students, assisting them in their
journeys toward becoming successful licensed registered nurses
4. Telepresenter - Defines a telepresenter as a medical professional at the originating site that
presents a patient to the physician or practitioner at the distant site
5. Client Advocate - Nurse supports the patient's best interests while respecting the family's
important role. Advocates become facilitators when patients and family members need to
discuss uncomfortable information or explore its implications. Nurses may sometimes need
to advocate for patients against their families
6. Researcher - Nurse researchers are scientists who study various aspects of health, illness,
and health care. Nurse researchers identify research questions, design and conduct
scientific studies, collect and analyze data and report their findings
