There + be describes the existence of something.


There + be can be used as a subject (dummy subject) in place of a definite subject. For example, instead
of saying: That city has parks, common usage is: The are parks in that city.

Point out that THE is not used with There + be.

IN PESENT: (am, is, are)

3. There aren’t enough chairs for everybody.
