Research the definition of the following terms and in your own words explain what you
have understood from the definition.

Sex
- The biological and physiological traits that distinguish humans as female, male,
or intersex are referred to as sex. These qualities are not mutually exclusive, as some
people possess both, yet these characteristics tend to classify humans from females to
males. Sex is usually assigned at birth and generally according to differences within
physical and physiological features such as gonads, sexual organs, chromosomes, and
hormones. This designated sex used by doctors is called a person's natal sex. It is
relatively fixed or constant through time and across various cultures in our society.
However, sex can also change in some cases such as transsexual people who are born
with the sex characteristics of one sex and gender identity of the other.

Gender
- Gender refers to the social, psychological, and cultural constructed features of
men and women, such as conventions, roles, and connections within and between
female and male groups. It differs from society to society and can be altered through
time because cultures may have distinct understanding of what masculine and feminine
is. These are primarily perpetuated and learned among families, race, education, and
religion. Moreover, gender may or may not correspond to a person's natal sex. It is
more about the identity and how a person feels about his/herself. Distinctively, gender
deals with identity and expression. We communicate our gender in a number of ways.
How we dress and do hairstyles, move, and interact with other people are just some
examples in identifying our gender identity.

Sexuality
- Personal and social connotations as well as sexual behavior and biology, are all
part of the concept of sexuality. It covers the method in which our bodies develop and
respond sexually through sexual actions such as kissing, caressing, and intercourse;
and feelings about these activities and responses. These includes our beliefs about
what is right and wrong, good and terrible. Life experiences that have shaped these
feelings and attitudes are also incorporated. Sexuality often refers to a person's sexual

orientation or preference. Our sexual orientation is who we are emotionally, mentally,

and physically attracted to. It may be same-sex or homosexual, male-female or
heterosexual, or bisexual orientation (most genders). This comprehension
encompasses all parts of who we are, including our values and views, bodies, wants,
relationships, gender, and thoughts and feelings. Because our sexuality is made out of
diverse components, our perception of our own sexuality changes every time and is
unique to every individual.
