DO:
1. How significant is reading for you as a student?
Learning requires reading. Each one of us should learn it throughout our
lives. The ability to read allows us to grasp new information and gives us access
to a wide range of opportunities, ideas, and stories. As a student, reading
broadens our knowledge and improves our intellect and sense of judgment.
Moreover, one of the best pastimes that I engage in is reading. It's enjoyable to
read a variety of books since it can introduce me to a wide range of topics such
that I was able to learn about people from various parts of the world as well as
their cultures, traditions, and much more. Significantly, reading books is
inextricably linked to how education works and how well students do in school. It
teaches students how to use language to interpret written words, improving our
vocabulary, ability to process information, and comprehension get better.
Reading also can encourage me to construct meanings and connect concepts
and experiences across texts through discussions sparked by reading. I can use
my knowledge to dispel skepticism and gain a deeper comprehension of the
subject. Hence, my writing abilities as a student are enhanced by the acquisition
of good reading habits and techniques.
2. As a reader, which of the literary genres do you prefer to read? Why?
As a reader, I prefer to read mystery literary genres. There is an innate
thrill when it comes to a brand-new whodunnit mystery. It is exciting to get the
chance to wear my detective hat and finally put all those hours of true crime
podcasts and Sherlock marathons to the test. While each book is working to fully
immerse their readers into the shoes of the characters, mystery books take extra
steps in making the reader an active part of the action. For every detail and clue
being shared, the reader is as much connecting the dots as the detective in the
story, and in many ways, tasked with the same mission to solve the crime before
the final chapters. The journey makes these books hard to put down, often
becoming a form of escapism for me as a reader who wants to take a break from
my own uncertainties and challenges. It is within this outline that the story takes
shape and the perfect blend of expected and unexpected, as we know we are
signing up to be thrilled and challenged when we turn to the first page. The
mystery subgenre offers viewers perplexing plotlines, captivating casts of
characters, astounding big revelations, and amazing answers to confounding
puzzles. Beyond all that, the genre has no shortage of riveting plot twists that
continue to enthrall its audiences to keep yearning for more. Being required to
take on the role of the story's detective is a component of the mystery reading
experience. Reading mysteries gives me the chance to practice my deductive
reasoning abilities as well as observational abilities. Additionally, I get to spend
time assembling puzzles and bridging the gaps in the evidence as I pay close
attention in figuring out the case as the story unfolds. Hence, mystery is my cup
of tea in all the literary genres because it not just provides great suspense it also
gives me a satisfying ending.
