in the account of the river, which is one of the
distinctive features of Butuan's geography that
seemed too important to be overlooked. Also,
Albo and Pigafetta's testimonies coincide and
corroborate each other. It is crucial for us that it
contributes us in knowing when and where truly
the first catholic mass is held.
Before, I was really confused, I really don’t know
whether in Butuan or in Limasawa where the first
catholic mass was held. But in reading the source,
I have learned that it was really held in Limasawa
not in Butuan.
The sources are reliable. Francisco Albo and
Antonio Pigafetta both eyewitnesses. As a Filipino,
it is also crucial for us that it contributes us in
knowing when and where truly the first catholic
mass is held, and this brought the spread of
Christianity in the Philippines and in Asia. Reading
the sources gave me more prior knowledge that I
can also contribute to others.
