HUSTON TEXTILE COMPANY

INTRODUCTION

Huston Textile Co. started with an interest for reestablishing antique American made apparatus that
before long advanced into an enthusiasm for reproducing treasure textures. As one of the main selvage
texture creators left in the United States, we are glad to participate in the resurgence of vintage-quality
textures and the restoration of American material creation.

Huston Textile Co. Started with an interest for vintage, American-made apparatus that before long
advanced into an energy for reproducing legacy textures. Every one of our materials are American-
made, here in California, from regular American-developed unrefined substances. As the main selvage
texture producer left in the United States, we are pleased to participate in the resurgence of vintage-
quality textures and the recovery of American material creation.

Selvage texture is profoundly pined for its completed edges, built up nature and its commitment to
great pieces of clothing that are made to endure. Selvage texture doesn't need extra sews or completing
work to keep it from fraying and is very gainful for the creation of prepared to-wear. Selvage is
exceptionally uncommon on the grounds that cutting edge innovation can't duplicate it–it must be made
on vintage looms.

DEPARTMENTS OF HUSTON TEXTILE

There are 8 departments in Huston textile company. Each departments have several roles in maintaining
the company progress.

LAYOUTS
Not only does the plant layout affect the operational level of an organization, but can also have strategic
implications

Facilitating the flow of materials and information;

increasing the efficient utilization of labour and equipment

reducing hazards to employees

improving employee morale

improving communication.

THERE ARE Three DIFFERENT TYPES OF LAYOUT DISCUSSED BELOW

EVALUATION TECHNIQUES
BlocPlan :

TOTAL AREA 42000

OUR DIMANSION (210X200)

Random layout = 0.10

8
After generating another layout FIRST LAYOUT = 0.57

EXHANGE BETWEEN = 4,5 = 0.05

9
EXCHANGE BETWEEN 5,2= 0.81

Finally we found best layout after EXCHANGE BETWEEN 2,3= 0.95

10
There are Analysis for Final layout

11
CRAFT (Computerized Relative Allocation of Facilities Technique) has been created to work on a current
format, while ALDEP (Automated Layout Design Program) is a development format. The improvement
given by ALDEP over CRAFT strategy was found to decrease yearly material taking care of cost by 23%

According to the CRAFT technique the arrangement of the departments have flaws which are

The form to chart input data

The centroid of the layout is arranged in a separate base ( cutting)

The distance between the departments is more as CRAFT follows to minimize the total distance travelled

12
M-Craft :
There is a random layout and we try to decrease cost in the next layout; cost=2687

We apply m-craft method to find best layot with lower cost ; cost=2637

13
After that we exchange between 1,3 Department ; cost=2564

Again we exchange between 3,6 Department ; cost=2493

14
Finally to improving the layout we change the length and width from 20*21 to 15*28 and we get the
best cost = 2321

15
Conclusion

As a result of our project in the article, we used

three methods which BLOCPLAN,CRAFT,MCRAFT to
find the best design and the lowest cost for the
facility, and we advise the company to apply the
methods used to facilitate transfers between
departments and reduce costs.
