Farm To Home Agricultural Marketing Information System With Real - Price Checker and Events Management System Proposal
The term Agricultural Marketing defines two fields, agriculture and marketing.
Agriculture refers to the process of producing goods by racing crops and livestock.
Whereas, marketing is an activity use to sell those goods. Thus, the combine term
Agricultural Marketing place a major role in moving the agricultural products from a
farm to the consumer. According to the National Commission on Agriculture,
Agricultural Marketing is defined as a process from which the farmer starts with a
decision to produce a saleable farm commodity, and it involves all aspects of the
market structure or system, both functional and institutional, based on technical and
economic considerations, and includes pre – harvest and post – harvest operations,
assembling, grading, storage, transportation and distribution.
In general, Agriculture Marketing is composed of two processes namely, input
marketing and product marketing. Input Marketing deals with the marketing of farm
inputs to the farmers like fertilizers, pesticide, farm machinery, diesel, electricity and
etc. Whereas, product marketing deals with the marketing of agricultural outcome
products and the movement flow from farmers, primary traders, wholesalers,
importers, exporters, and retailers. Thus, Agricultural Marketing can be general define
as the combination of all the activities right from the supply of farm inputs to the
farmers, to the movement of agricultural products from farm to the consumer.
While comparing to the traditional agricultural marketing, over the last six decades
Agricultural Marketing faces a tremendous growth to several factors. Some of them
are, increase in the supply of agricultural commodities, increase in urbanization,
increase income levels, increasing imports to overseas markets and changes in the
degree of intervention in agricultural markets. Thus, the new role of agricultural
marketing starts right from the time of decision making about:
What to produce?
Which variety to produce?
How to prepare the product for marketing?

Objectives of the Study:
General Objective: This study aims to help the farmers by maximizing the
farmer’s profit by widening its market by creating events and usage of modern
technologies that focuses on agricultural marketing. This study also aims to
inform the consumers the real price of the specific agricultural product they
want to buy by looking at the real – price checker menu.
Specific Objectives:
This study aims to achieve these specific objectives.
To maximize the profit of the farmers.
To widen the farmer’s market.
To easily creating an event.
To update consumers for the upcoming events.
To avoid conflicts of schedule of creating an event using event
management.
To inform consumers by creating a real – time price checker on
agricultural products.
