DE COURE FOUNDATION
Housed in one of the “Bells” the De Coure founda on
is a philanthropic venture aimed at increasing medical tech
availability to everyone, it was set up by Marion De Coure,
with her historic family wealth. She was killed during an
medical procedure. Her murder results in private security
contractors headed by her son looking for the perpetrators.
THE CORE MOB
Based in a large casino complex in the spire, the Core
Mob is laundering large amounts of the clusters illegal
money through its opera ons. The current mob boss is Oldo
Core. He made the characters an offer they couldn't refuse
to steal De Coure’s heart for him. For security, they would
have their memories wiped so they could not rat him out.
Oldo is now sending out a team to track down the players
and recover the heart a er the extrac on process was
raided.
STATION SECURITY
From its main offices in the Nave, sta on security has
a squad led by Ella Forgrave, an up an coming inves gator,
dispatched to catch the killers of Marion De Coure. She
managed to track the killers to a discrete lab thanks to a
lucky p off from a street vendor responding to the news.

The adventure, being a sandbox, can go in many
direc ons, and should be let to follow its natural course,
however the antagonist fac ons ul mate goals are vaguely:
DE COURE FOUNDATION will try to catch and kill the
protagonists, with li le thought to their mo va ons.
THE CORE MOB will try to reclaim the heart and make sure
they are not implicated in the crime however necessary.
STATION SECURITY will try to bring all involved to jus ce,
but will not hesitate to use lethal force if necessary.
The body horror of the HeartstoreTM should permeate the
game and what happens as it progresses is up to you...

A large por on of the narra ve of this scenario is played in
flashback, which must be carefully managed by the GM

The HeartStoreTM
This biocyberne c device is implanted into the chest cavity
and to casual observa on, looks like a small scar under the
chrome tendrils protrude in order to collect and secure an
organ for storage. The device converts the recipient's bio
signatures to be whatever is needed, but the longer an organ
is held the more side effects the distor on of biology has.
When a character who has an organ implanted in the store
suffers a stressful event, roll a body save, failure means the
stress triggers an adverse reac on from the device and they
should roll 1d10.

The players have stolen a custom replicant heart,
scheduled for Implanta on into a wealthy philanthropist for a
mob boss who will also die without it. They sold their skills to
the mob boss on the understanding that their memory of the
event would be wiped a er comple on. They successfully did
the job but during the organ extrac on/ memory wipe process
they have been discovered.
THE CHURCH as it is colloquially known is a medium
sized sta on in the local cluster designa on “XY”. It is primarily
known as a hospital and resort facility for recupera on from
injuries that require treatment and care that local medical
bays cannot process.
The sta ons most public face is 1. THE HALO which
houses the clusters finest medical and research facili es with
its shiny white, sterile everything, but beneath that in 2. THE
NAVE is a commercial space of labs and surgery's, discreetly
tucked away between legi mate businesses and habita on,
where doctors and biotechnicians can moonlight for higher
prices, and more “discrete” op ons. Connected to the Nave
by turboli sha s are 3. THE WINGS, rigid solar sails, the
structure of which form the cramped high gravity housing for
those who can not afford to live be er.
At one end of the facility is the area known as 4. THE
CRYPT, this houses the power converters and other opera ons
that allow the sta on to run, along with the 5. DOCKING RING.
At the other end is 6. THE STEEPLE, this is the sec on that
houses the hotel and resort facili es that clients recuperate in.
Around the outside of the steeple are 7. THE BELLS private
tethered satellites owned and operated by real high rollers.

This adventure is a loose sandbox where the GM will
have to keep track of the ac ons and mo va ons of the 3
groups of antagonists and the informa on they may have
regarding the incident. This informa on and their resultant
responses are going to be at least par ally directed by the
ac ons seen in flashback which will make the whole thing
par cularly challenging, but rewarding to run.
The GM is free to disregard everything, up to and
beyond, en re fac ons if they feel it be er serves their game.
ESCAPING THE LAB
The security forces pound on the door, while the
characters are ushered out of the back of an anonymous
looking lab, off a retail concourse in the Nave, by a friendly
nurse. With their memories of the last few days obviously
missing they will likely be at a loss as to what's going on.
HEARING THE NEWS
While out in a public place having escaped the lab, the
characters hear about the death of Marion De Coure on the
opera ng table, having had their life saving opera on
tampered with by assassins, presumably to manipulate the
stock market or some other grudge. The sta on is placed
under lockdown un l security have found the culprits.
RESEARCHING MARION DE COURE
Informa on on Marion and the De Coure founda on is
easy to find, her public and private image are the same.
BACK TO THE LAB
The lab is a private facility that was hired outright to
ensure privacy by Oldo Core personally. The nurse has been
threated by Jace Tindal for their ac ons, but the fact that the
heart was not retrieved by security was valuable to Core.
RESEARCHING OLDO CORE
Oldo is hard to get details on, the only reliable way is
from Oldo himself, or poten ally the files security has on him.
HEADING TO THE SPIRE
Ge ng to the spire is normally trivial, but currently as
part of the sta on lockdown there are ID checks to enter.
THE CORE CASINO
Bright lights and loud noises fill the space, un l you get
to the backrooms. Oldo will aim to get the players to a lab for
heart extrac on as soon as possible. With any fallout
happening later.
THE DE COURE BELL
This opulent, tech filled tethered satellite is the site of
the lab where the heart was stolen from. As its security has
been recently breached, there are private security contractors
checking all obvious entryways for anything suspicious.
FOUND BY THE CORE MOB
If the characters are tracked down by Jace Tindal and
his goons they will be heavily roughed up, while being dragged
to see Oldo. Jace is quick to anger and thus easy to manipulate
into making a mistake. He doesn't know about Oldo’s need for
the heart, only that he wants it.
CAPTURE BY JAXON DE COURE
If Jaxon and his Team catch the characters, Jaxons goal
is revenge for the death of his mother, it will take some fast
talking to get him to relent and care about the wider story.
INTEROGATION BY SECURITY
If the characters get found and captured by sta on
security, they will be taken to the large security offices in the
Nave for processing. A er a short me they will be taken to an
interview room by guards for a ‘discussion’ with Ella Forgrave.
HOLING UP
Characters are likely to try and find places to hole up
repeatedly, from abandoned storage lockers to backroom dive
bars. Don't make these too easy to find. Once found however
a loca on should provide only 1d10 x 6 min of sanctuary
before they are found by the least represented antagonist.
MAKING AN ESCAPE
The sta on will be locked down from the start of the
scenario, meaning that no ships can enter or leave the docking
ring. This can only be kept up for 24 hours or so. A er that
me, there will be too much traffic orbi ng the sta on and
clients will be missing too many pre-booked medical
procedures. With this in mind it may be possible for characters
to get back to their ship if they have one and escape, but they
will likely be hunted by someone.
 Sta on XY12-61-1 “The Church”
An aging wealthy philanthropist, working to increase
medical reach in the cluster. She discovered she had a
congenital heart defect, so worked to develop a
revolu onary new bio cyberne c heart. This was set to be
implanted, but it was stolen from the opera ng table
resul ng in her death.

Marion's son, a nervous wiry man with long jet back

hair and a cyberne c right hand, a result of a childhood
accident. He is leading the De Coure response to the murder
and his want for revenge means he will stop at nothing in
order to punish the perpetrators.

This powerfully built, older

man is a secret illegi mate 1/2
brother to Marion De Coure. He
began running mob opera ons here
several years ago, having found that
he suffered the same heart defect as
his sister. That way he felt he would
be in a posi on to benefit from any cure she could develop.

An enforcer for the Core Mob who has been tasked to

find the characters a er they run from the lab. A small brutal
man, takes pleasure in using people to hurt others. He STATISTICS
prefers to not get his hands dirty any more for fear of leaving
evidence. (This is what resulted in his previous incarcera on)
