“AN ORDER ESTABLISHING A VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND CHILDREN

(VAWC) DESK OF BARANGAY PANDAN, MAMBAJAO, CAMIGUIN.”

WHEREAS, Republic Act 9262, is an act defining violence against women and their
children, providing for protective measures for victims, prescribing penalties therefore,
and for other purposes;

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 9710, otherwise known as the MAGNA CARTA of
WOMEN is a comprehensive women’s human rights law that seeks to eliminate
discrimination against women by recognizing, protecting, fulfilling & promoting the rights
of Filipino women especially those in marginalized sectors;

WHEREAS, Section 12, D Rule IV of the Rules & Regulations implementing the
MAGNA CARTA of WOMEN provides for the establishments of VAWC Desk in every
barangay to ensure that violence against women’s cases are fully address in a gender-
responsive manner;

WHEREAS, there is need to set up VAWC desk within the area of Barangay Hall of
Pandan, Mambajao, Camiguin to ensure confidentially, privacy & safety of victim/s-
survivor with a designated VAWC DESK person trained in a gender-sensitive handling
of cases;

NOW THEREFORE, I BELINDA D. INTING, PUNONG BARANGAY of Tagdo,

Mambajao, Camiguin by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order;

SECTION I. Establish of VAWC Desk and designate MR. ELISEO LL. DALWAG
Committee on Women and Family as the Barangay VAWC Desk Officer.

SECTION II. The barangay VAWC desk shall perform the following tasks;

1. Response to gender-based violence cases brought in the barangay;

2. Record the number of gender-based violence case handled by the barangay &
submit a quarterly report on all cases of VAWC to DILG office & DSWD Office.

3. Keep VAWC cases records confidential & secured and ensure that only
authorized personnel can access necessary services.

4. Assists victims of VAWC in securing Barangay Protection Order (BPO) and

access necessary services.

5. Develop the barangays gender-responsive plan in addressing gender-based

violence including support services, capability building and referral system;

6. Coordinate & refer cases to government services, non-governmental

organization (NGO’s) institutions and other service provide as necessary.

7. Address other forms of abuse committed against women, especially senior

citizens, women with disabilities and other marginalized groups;

8. Lead advocacies in the elimination of VAWC in the community;

9. Perform other related functions as may be assigned.

SECTION III. All prior inconsistent orders/issuances are hereby repealed and/or
modified accordingly.

SECTION IV. Let copies of the executive order are furnished to all concerned.

SECTION V. EFFECTIVITY: This order shall take effect immediately.
