Since the study involves the improvement and caring for plants, the students chose to
gather information about our chosen plant on PFAF. PFAF is an online website which stands for
plants for a future. It is non profitable organization that helps on bringing developments on the
plants. They also posts advices in taking care of plants. Online organizations like this is essential
for us to gain information about plants that we want to take care of.
Plants and trees are essential in our lives since they serve as our resource for food,
medicine, the water, habitat (since woods came out of trees and animals also use them as their
homes), and for air we breathe (for they filter the polluted which makes it safe for us to breathe).
Aside from those, there are still many things plant and trees helps us so taking care of them is
really essential.
The study also involves the study of electromagnetic spectrum in relation to the colors
under the visible light so we also visit the NASA (National Aeronautics and Space
Administration). As well as some information on the visible light since the visible light spectrum
and its wavelength is connected to atmospheric phenomenon.
National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is a government agency in
United States, responsible for science and technology relating space and air. Our study wasn’t
even related to aircrafts and space matters however, there are concepts discussed by NASA that
we can use in our study.
NASA also discussed the relation of color and temperature due to the comparison on heat
and colors of stars. We adapted in these concepts and made some predictions in relation to the
color of light that will affect the plant’s growth. The intensity and temperature affects the growth
of plants so it is necessary to study and analyze first the frequency of a color’s wavelength to
ensure that it will be safe for the plants. And based to the research made, every color under the
visible light will be harmless for the plants.
