2. COURSE DESCRIPTION
This is the final module of the program. During the module, under the supervision of a
teacher, students apply the knowledge and skills acquired from all modules in the program to
complete an in-depth study of economic and business issues. Students can choose to do
research with academic content or practical content of an organization / business, depending
on the discussion with the instructor.
Each student will have an instructor. The module is completed in a period of 10 weeks. The
senior seminar is graded by two lecturers: instructor and reviewer.
3. EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES
On completion of this course, the students should be able to:
* Knowledge
(1) Strengthen the students’ lifelong learning skills, especially in doing research and
solving business and economic issues;
(2) Help students understand different research methods in economics and business;
apply them with appropriate research subjects;
(3) Help students draft an outline of an economic or business problem;
* Skills
(4) Provide students with knowledge, reading skills and material synthesis on research
issues in the field of economics and business;
(5) Help students apply the skills of analysis, synthesis, evaluation, debating, etc. in
researching an issue of economic theory or practical business issues;
(6) Help students complete a theoretical study of economics or business practices
* Attitudes
(7) Develop correct attitudes and adapt confidence in work by complying general
regulations
4. COURSE SCHEDULE

After checking all the prerequisites, students will register for research areas with the School

The School will assign the instructors for students on the basis of the students’ research areas
and aspirations.

Students will work directly with the instructor, following a schedule specifically agreed with
the teacher.

The process of working with instructors is as follows:

- Agree on work schedule

- Discuss the research topic (the students can re-register the research topic with the School)

- The instructors give in-depth guideline on research methods, how to find and read materials,
etc.

-The instructors give guideline on how to build a research proposal.

-Students find materials, write, discuss with the instructors to complete the thesis.

- The instructors read the thesis draft, discuss and correct the mistakes.

-Students are approved to finish the final version

-Students print 2 copies, submit 1 copy to the instructor and 1 copy to the School.

5. COURSE ASSESSMENT

The module grade is the average of the instructor and reviewer’s grades.

The instructors and reviewers graded the thesis according to the following criteria, in which
the attendance mark (the attitude of the student during the module) is decided by the
instructor, maximum of 1 point.

Criteria for evaluating the thesis:

1. Thesis format: comply with the school's regulations on fonts, line spacing, 1,0
space, page numbers, tables, references, etc.
2. Research methods: method names, the application of the methods, the 1,0
rationality of these research methods, etc.
3. The content 6,0
3.1 The rationale, purpose, object, and scope of the research are clearly and 1,0
appropriately defined; the language is clear and scientific, etc.
3.2 The structure of the topic: rational and balanced; the compatibility between 1,0
chapters and sections names with topic name; the match between the content and
the titles of the sections.
3.3 The method of approaching research issues (theoretical framework or 1,0
introduction of industry / business)are logic and presented clearly in the
introduction chapter
3.4 Analyze the situation in details, present the shortcomings and limitations of the 1,5
situation, explain the causes; update figures and information correctly
3.5 Solutions and recommendations which match with the theoretical basis and the 1,5
situation are specific and feasible.
4. References: plentiful, appropriate from reliable sources, presented in the list 1,0
and cited in the thesis in the correct format.

5. Attendance: based on the evaluation of the Instructor about the working 1,0
attitude of student during the module (The comments of instructor are attached
to the thesis)
