2. COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course equips students with theoretical and practical business knowledge in
international market with a variety of political, economic, legal and cultural
differences. The subject focuses on business strategies, methods and business practices
of firms in national and international environment. The subject is delivered in order to
achieve the study objectives of the International Business profession, together with the
goals of work and post-graduate research for students.

3. EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES


On completion of this course, the students should be able to:
* Knowledge
1) Understand the basic theoretical issues of international business from the
perspective of firms and the market.
2) Analyze international business environment with basic factors such as
economic, political, legal, cultural and international economic integration.
3) Understand and analyze international business strategies and modes of entry
of firms in international market.
4) Analyze business strategies of firms under globalization trends.
5) Analyze the company’s philosophy, standards, rules and behaviors on
business ethics and social responsibilities.

6) Skills to synthesize and analyze theoretical issues in business in the context
of international economic integration and globalization.
7) Skill to excersice autonomy in study, critical thinking in international
business theory and practice.
8) Skills to teamwork, analysis and evaluation of international business
strategies and globalization.

practice.

6. COURSE POLICY:
The Course policy is under the current training regulations
Students must attend at least 80% lectures to be eligible to take the final exam;
- All group members are required to participate in delivering group presentation and
report;
- Students are awarded with bonus points for actively participating in class dicussion
and contribution;
- Individual presentation result is affected by the degree of contribution of each
member (based on group report);
- Final exams with up to 50% similarity will be deducted ½ from the final point;
- Final exams with more than 50% similarity will be given zero (0) point as final
mark.

7.2. Assessment Criteria


7.2.1. Mid-term: Group work & presentation
* Generic Criteria
- Joining in all group works (a report assessing how and at which level each
member contributes to group works, will be required);
- Studying about the content and relevant knowledge of the topic, preparing
slides;
- Operating a presentation in which highlights what your group has done to
develop and assess international business topic. The presentation requires the
participation of all group members. Member who do not present, shall have zero mark
for this criteria.
* Requirements for group report
- Presentation: the total time allocation for each group will be around 20 to
25 minutes. There will be a subtract of 10% in the total mark if the presentation last
more or less than the mentioned time.
- Dress code: formal and smart dress. There should be no hand-document
or other device needed for the presentation except group report.
- Group report: the content should be relevant to the topic. The report
should indicate relevant information and be formatted on A4 paper size, font size 14,
presented on Time New Roman font or VnTime. The margin of upper, lower, left and
right should be 2.5 cm, 2.5 cm, 3.5 cm, 2 cm respectively with the line spacing is 1.5
lines. The report should have a length of 25-30 pages.

7.2.3. Bonus / incentive:


Students who actively contribute to the class, involved in speaking and
expressing their qualified and relevant opinions, or who have received more than 3
qualified speeches, will be given incentives. (03 speeches = 0.2 mid-term total mark /
presentation or 0.1 final term total mark, 10 score scale)
