EAL Hurdle Task – The Crucible

Salem, Massachusetts 1692

Day 1:

Dear diary,

Such a bad day, I lost my job because Elizabeth Proctor had fired me after she

discovered that her husband, John Proctor, and I were having an affair. So I’m afraid he

won’t want to see me again. But I still don’t know understand why John Proctor prefer his

wife instead of me. I am much better than that naïve, sickly and plain woman. I am

intelligent, healthy and flawless, and any man who has me will consider himself fortunate.

On the other hand, Elizabeth is an elderly woman who should not exist in this world. I’m a

lot more attractive than she is, which is perfect for any guy who can see it. But,

unfortunately, the guy I want however is married to a woman who is not a good match for

him, which is an annoyance whenever I think about it. I think John and she should both split

up and marry me because unlike her, I think I’d become a better wife. He would never sway

from her bed into mine if he felt she was a wonderful wife. I believe that I should be happy

that she isn’t good enough for him, in his opinion. I think John Proctor is mine, but I’m not

sure what I can now; I think I should do something to separate them, but I guess I’ll have to

be very careful to make sure Elizabeth doesn’t tell our affair with anyone. After a while

thinking thoroughly, and I’ve come up with a couple of different plans, like accusing

Elizabeth of witchcraft, as it would be easy to turn Elizabeth into a main victim.

Day 2:

Dear diary,
Today, I’m at the Salem General Court where we’re listing all of the people, we consider to

be devil advocates. My biggest goal is to kill Elizabeth, who stands between John Proctor

and me, and I have asked Tituba to assist me in achieving the spirits. However, if my scheme

failed, the only option I had was to declare her a witch. This is an opportunity to exact

vengeance Elizabeth and I think that John is unaware of my plot because the last time we

met, he stood up for his wife but not for me. He’ll be sorry he married Elizabeth instead of

fleeing with me. I and Marry Warren had intended to suspect Elizabeth of being a witch.

Marry will give the poppet to Elizabeth and I’ll pierce a needle into my stomach and say that

Elizabeth used the poppet to hurt me because I had an affair with her husband and Cheever

would base on my words to find the poppet as an evidence to prosecute her. I knew she was

aware that I had an affair with John, but I warned John that if he said that we had an affair

with his wife, I would darken both his and his family’s names by revealing that he had an

affair with me. But that plan was just to guarantee that he wouldn’t tell anyone, but I have

no doubt that he will keep this secret hidden because he really loves and cares for his

family. In addition, I’d like to tell that Cheever has been arrested Elizabeth and she was back

to Salem but I’m hoping things would continue to go well.
