Level of Awareness of G12 STEM Students of the USA against GBV in the Philippines Due to Cultural
Social Norms

ABSTRACT
Gender-based violence is violence directed at individuals or groups on the basis of their gender. The main
cause of it is cultural and social norms which refer to the different values, actions, and other sociocultural
factors that often dictate what is acceptable and not in society, as well as the actions of those individuals
and institutions. This type of violence against women has been prevalent up until now and since the
public in the Philippines does not hear all of the voices of young people on the issue, this research aims to
fill this gap by determining the level of awareness, and any other impressions of Grade 12 Science,
Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics students of the University of San Agustin. This study used a
descriptive quantitative approach since it described the said issue as it happens in nature. An online
survey tool was utilized and the data gathered in this study statistically interpreted and explained the
varying perceptions of the participants which helped in achieving the objective of the study.

analysis that can interpret the collected data.

Data analysis
● Revise
● Indicate the statistical tool and statistical software that will be used to process the data and its
solving. Use the book as a guide.
