The City of Manchester Stadium
is a stadium in Manchester,
England. It is also called the
Etihad Stadium, COMS or
Eastlands. It was first designed
as part of Manchester's failed bid
for the 2000 Summer Olympics.
The stadium was built for the 2002 Commonwealth Games at a cost of
£110 million. After the Games, it was turned into a football stadium. It
became the home of Manchester City F.C. who moved there in 2003
after signing a 250-year lease.
The stadium is shaped like a bowl. It has two levels all the way around.
There is a third level along the two side stands. It is the fifth-largest
stadium in the FA Premier League and the twelfth-largest in the United
Kingdom, with 47,726 seats. The highest attendance for a football
game at the stadium was on 5 December 2009 when 47,348 fans
watched Manchester City play Chelsea.
The City of Manchester Stadium is to the east of Manchester city

Coloring is an activity that we tend to as-
sociate with children. As we grow older,
we put aside our crayons and colored

for adults as well.

In simplest terms, coloring has a de-stressing effect because when
we focus on a particular activity, we focus on it and not on our

In countries like France or the UK, coloring books for adults are
bestsellers. The French publisher Hachette even has a collection
called Art-Therapie with twenty de-stress volumes including all kinds
of drawings from books of butterflies and flowers to cupcakes, graffiti
and psychedelic patterns.
In the United Kingdom the books of illustrator Mel Simone Elliot are
popular. She lets you color celebrities like Ryan Gosling, Lady Gaga,
Beyonce and Kate Moss in her series Colour Me Good. The trend has
struck Spain too.
One ~f the first psychologists to apply coloring as a relaxation
technique was Carl G. Jung in the early 20th century. He did this
through ,:nandalas: circular designs with concentric shapes similar to
the Gothic churches' rose windows. They have their origin in India.
Psychologists say ~oloring comforts us, gives us peace, and lets us
enJoy ourselve~ -- 1t even temporarily frees us from daily pressures...

The best example we've seen of these "adult" treehouse
apartments is in Turin, Italy where one apartment building

disguise this apartment building in Turin, Italy. Designed
by Luciano Pia, 25 Verde (which translates to "25 Green")
brings plants up off the ground in an attempt to evade
Turin's homogeneous urban scene and integrate natural
life into the facade of the residential building. Standing five
stories high the building lives up to its moniker and looks
like a giant, beautiful forest.

The undulating structure creates a transition from outdoors

to In, holding 150 trees that absorb close to 200,000 liters
of carbon dioxide an hour. This natural absorption brings
pollution protection to its residents, helping to eliminate
harmful gasses caused by cars and harsh sounds from
the bustling streets outside. The trees' seasonal progres-
sion also creates the ideal microclimate inside the build-
ing, steadying temperature extremes during the cold and
warmer months. Even the walls " breathe" at 25 Verde, as
ventilated walls allow sunlight to stream in during the day
time. The plants' full foliage blocks rays of sun during the
summer while letting in warm light during the winter.

The building holds 63 units, each benefiting from the ter-

races and vegetation just beyond their windows and walls.
Each species of tree and plant has been chosen purpose-
fully from deciduous plant life in Turin to provide the high-
est variety of color, foliage, and blooming. This innovative
design provides a childlike dream while also providing real
world benefits to those who live in this urban treehouse.

Describing People
Inner Qua ities

In last month 's article we have learnt about
how to describe people's appearance.
Describing people is a relatively simple
task; you just look at them and you can
talk about them even if you don't know
them very well. But beauty is only skin
deep. If you get to know people better
and want to talk about their personality
and their inner qualities you will need a
more sophisticated vocabulary. Can you
describe yourself from this aspect? What
is your personality like?
Let's start with the general personality or character
features then let's go into the details. If you want to say
something positive about somebody's character you
can use attributes like:

attractive, friendly, kind, nice, funny, lovely, cool,
pleasant, lively, likeable, loveable, respectable,
polite, dear, sweet, cute, interesting, thoughtful,
calm , decent, humorous, engaging, charming
If you want to use negative attributes you can choose
from the followings for example:
strange, weird, unpleasant, unfriendly, boring,
conceited, impolite, odd, evil, indecent, stand-
offish, reserved , rude, boastful, ill-mannered,
fussy, cynical
Let's suppose you have got a new colleague at work
who you don't know very well but you want to describe
to your friend. You can talk about him or her like this:
"Well, I still don't know Jim very well, but he is
definitely a nice chap. He is attractive and friendly
though he is a bit too reserved to my taste. He is very
likeable, smiles a lot and he is always polite. Though
he is very cute he is not conceited at all and I can 't find
any weird personality traits in him. You know that I
don't like strange and boring guys, but he seems to be
a real asset. "
When we get to know people better we can give more
detailed descriptions about their personality, their
qualities, their abilities. If you want to describe their
intellect and you find them intelligent or clever, the
positive attributes can be:

People's mood is very important, sometimes it
determines the mood of others around the person.
Everyone likes happy, optimistic, cheerful people but
it's not easy to be together with pessimistic, moody,
angry or hurt, offended people.
Other positive attributes to describe somebody's mood
can be: jolly, funny, passionate, happy-go-lucky
And here are some negative attributes: arrogant,
anxious, irritable, depressed, capricious, gloomy,
sulky, restless, quarrelsome
Our life is mostly spent among other people. If you are
outgoing and sociable you are probably popular. If
you are an introvert, unsociable and egotistical, people
surely won't like your company. Your relationship to
others will be positive if you are:
sympathetic, sensitive, encouraging,
approachable, generous, ready to share,
hospitable, modest, enthusiastic, easy-going,
sincere, honest, trustworthy, loyal, conscientious,
cooperative, helpful, tolerant, caring, gentle, fair,
understanding, patient, tolerant, tidy, punctual,
considerate, down-to-earth

influence your relationship to others:

Let's put all this into practice. We have mentioned
Jim, your new colleague at the beginning of the article.
Some time has passed; you have had the chance to
get to know him much better. He has proved to be the
ideal colleague; he is the best person you can imagine.
Describe him to your friend in more detail. Put the
emphasis on his inner qualities. The description could
be something like this:
"Do you remember Jim, my colleague, I'd mentioned
you a few months ago? Well, my first instincts were
right, he's proved to be my best colleague ever. He is
very intelligent and gifted, but not big headed at all. He
is the most helpful person I've ever met and he gets on
with people very well. He is tolerant and patient, and
is a good listener. His best quality is that he is always
ready to smile and comfort you if you happen to have
a bad day. He is considerate and kind and never boasts
of his good achievements. You know that egotistic
people just drive me crazy, but Jim is just the opposite.
He is an excellent team worker and never gets offended
if others also share their ideas or opinions. His funny,
humorous remarks often make my day. He is a very
optimistic person who always tries to look at the bright
side of things and his engaging personality makes him

everybody's favourite in the office.
And now let's do the opposite. You have a horrible
colleague at work who is a real pain and makes
everybody's life miserable. The description could be
something like this:
"You have met Jane in the office, haven't you? Well, she
is a real witch, I don 't think anybody likes her. She is
bossy and inconsiderate and never listens to anybody's
opinion. I don't want to be rude, but everybody thinks
that she is not very intelligent and that's what she
tries to hide with her loud and harsh manners. She is
conceited and weird and never smiles. She is anti-social
and mean and likes to boast. The lucky thing is that she
likes to stay in her office for long periods of time and
we don't have to meet her very often. She tries to make
everybody's life miserable. I'm so sorry for her because
she hasn't got any friends among the colleagu~s and

the first contact with a travel agent when
planning a dream vacation to the return flight
home, the number of jobs for workers in
travel and tourism are on the rise. Although

requirements and responsibilities differ
highly. Let's see some of the most important
jobs in the tourism and catering industry.

Agents, Planners, Guides
There are many people who work on helping their
customers find the best possible travel experience.
They plan and guide the tours so their clients do not
meet any unexpected surprises and have the holiday
they need and want.
Travel agents book business and leisure travel for their
customers. They sell holiday packages and give travel
advice. Their role is to make travel planning easier, and
to make sure the customers have the best trip possible.
Tourist information centres (TICs) provide information
to visitors about transport, tourist attractions and local
services and activities at the destination. Visitors who
need extra help and information can rely on tourist
guides. They are the experts of the sights in a certain
area, who show visitors around places of interest,
such as towns and cities, historic buildings, gardens,
religious sites or museums and art galleries. Guides
are on the front lines of the tourism industry and are
personally responsible for educating and shepherding
tourists who come to tourist sites.

Transportation
As tourism very often includes going from one place
to another, there are many transportation jobs
that are connected to it. Airports have a prominent
role in transportation, obviously. Airline customer

Pilots navigate airplanes and transport passengers to
