A. A simple communication can be expressed in the following diagram.

It is basically composed of
Sender, Receiver, Message, Encoding and Decoding, Noise and Feedback. Communication is a
two-way process wherein the message in the form of ideas, thoughts, feelings, opinions is
transmitted between two or more persons with the intent of creating a shared understanding.

Sender is required to initiate the entire loop of the communication. For some reason a sender
wants to deliver a message to particular receiver in either verbal or non-verbal form. A receiver
can be single entity or a group which is required to decode or "interpret" whatever encoded
message from the sender. A receiver will then "reply" a message back to the sender. This reply is
called feedback.

Noise is included in the diagram even it is actually unwanted to be included in the

communication. Since noise is an inevitable nature that interferes with the message in the form
of other message, sounds, distance etc.

II.
1. Among the nine principles of communication, which one is the easiest and which one is the
hardest to achieve and why? The easiest principle is CREATIVITY. Creativity in
communication means having the ability to craft interesting messages in terms of sentence
structure and word choice. I can say that this is the easiest way because you can express
your thoughts with different messages. Through this creativity you can communicate with
one another well while the hardest principle is CULTURAL SENSITIVITY. Today, with the
increasing emphasis on empowering diverse cultures, lifestyles, and races and the pursuit
for gender equality, cultural sensitivity, becomes an important standard for effective
communication. In terms of cultural sensitivity, I think this is the hardest especially if you do
not know well the culture of others.
2. It’s evident that we cannot prevent communication barriers but what are some ways to at
least lessen it?
An effective communication is one where the sender and receiver encode a message in an
equivalent way. Thus, the message is successfully transmitted: the receiver understands the
meaning and intention of the message delivered. To make the communication effective, it is
very important that the sender knows clearly what he wants to transmit and that he is
aware of the qualities of the person or persons to whom he wants to send it in order to
formulate the message in the right way. as accurate as possible.

In effective communication, the sender must be - or at least appear - credible to those who
receive the message. For this, the key is to show that you understand, that it is an
authorized voice about what you are communicating. At the same time, you should convey
it in the best possible way, with clear and precise concepts, so that there are no
misunderstandings or misinterpretations. On the other hand, the message formulated by
the issuer must not only be rational or emotional, but must combine both dimensions. In
this way, those who are not moved by the emotional elements can be convinced by the
rational ones and vice versa. But, in addition, it can be a good strategy to grab the attention
of the receiver of the message.

3. How will you handle people who disregard ethics in communication?

There should be ethics in communication to convey the message clearly and effectively. If
the message is conveyed in an unethical way, the receiver may misinterpret it, resulting in
conflicts and confusion. When communicating, we must take consider and be aware of the
words that we will use.

Unethical communication hinders the building and maintaining of a good humane

relationship. Unethical behavior has serious consequences in which it threatens the quality
of all communication and having a relationship with other people. Many problems may arise
due to unethical way of communication practices. When people don’t use an ethical manner
in communicating, it may result in conflicts. Also, if a person does not aware on his
communication practices they could be called out for defamation.
