Currently, Atomberg manufactures & sells ceiling, pedestal, table, wall and exhaust fans.
These fans run on super-efficient BLDC motor, which consumes 60-70% less electricity while
giving the same air delivery. In addition to being energy efficient, these fans are also remote
controlled, voice-controlled, and runs 3 times longer on inverters. Atomberg fans are
currently the best-rated fans on most e-commerce websites (Amazon, Flipkart etc). Our Retail
reach is around 7000 counters across 100 cities and is projected to increase to 15,000 by
March 2022.
After disrupting the way India looked at ceiling fans, Atomberg is now ready to take the
kitchen space with their new Mixer Grinder Launch – MG1.
The Atomberg MG1
The MG1 fits where other mixer grinders
can’t. Its compact design, inspired by the
minimalist art movement, allows you to
store it in tight spaces. It comes with 4
jars – a Liquidizing jar, a Dry Grinding jar,
a chutney jar and a chopper jar. Product
will be available in 2 variants – Mixer
Grinder with Chopper Jar & Mixer
Grinder without Chopper Jar.
What makes Atomberg MG1 a cut above the rest?
1. BLDC Technology – Being India’s first mixer grinder with a BLDC motor, Atomberg
Mixer Grinder MG 1 has the widest range of RPMs that lend themselves to numerous
applications. At a mere 485W, it grinds the toughest ingredients effortlessly. Its never-
seen-before feature, Slow Mode, retains sil batta like textures, taste and nutrition
that’s perfect for chutneys.
2. Slow Mode - The Slow Mode grinds anything ever-so-slightly. It retains the texture
because not everything needs to be mashed and finely- powdered. Best used for
applications like chutney, butter churning, mayonnaise and making hummus, etc.
3. Safety Feature - The MG 1 will only work when the knob is turned to zero and the jar
is fixed correctly, without that the LED will be indicating orange colour. Once the knob
is at speed zero and the jars are fixed properly, the orange LED will turn to blue.
Spillage and mishaps are not MG 1’s specialty
4. Intelligent Motor - At the heart of the MG 1 is an intelligent motor that enhances your
grinding experience.
a. LED indicates the user to turn off or lower the speed of the mixer as soon as it
senses that the motor is getting heated, or the inconsistency in voltage. It
maintains 15000 RPM speed at less power consumption for light-load applications
such as juices whereas the motor can reduce the RPM to as low as 10000 to
maintain power within the set parameter (to avoid the motor from tripping)
b. The MG 1 will only work when the knob is turned to zero and the jar is fixed

lets you know if the jar is placed wrong.
7. Chopper Jar – The Atomberg MG 1 comes with a chopper jar that runs only at 2000rpm
(The only in India to do so) eliminating the need for a separate motorised chopper! It
ensures that the strenuous process of chopping vegetables doesn’t deprive our
customers from lip-smacking culinary experiences.

Mixer Grinder Online Launch


Atomberg launched MG 1 Mixer Grinder in E-commerce platforms (Amazon/ Flipkart/ D2C/
Tata Cliq/ CRED) in February 2022. The product has seen a good traction in these online
platforms and withing a span of only 4 months Atomberg was able to touch a monthly sales
of 1000 units. The Black+Chopper sku has seen more traction accounting for almost 50% of
the sales. Atomberg wishes to double its revenue in ecommerce channel by March 2023.

Questions
Based on your understanding of the case study, you are expected to answer the following
questions.
1. After a successful online launch, Atomberg is planning to launch Atomberg MG 1 in
retail space (or offline channel). Using elements of marketing mix devise a set of
actions/strategies that Atomberg must use to make the retail launch successful.
2. Identify the ideal Target Group for Atomberg’s MG1 and evaluate potential and
commercial attractiveness of the group. Critically discuss the segmentation strategy,
basis for segmentation and important characteristics of each segment for Atomberg
MG 1.
3. Using Amazon bestseller page (link provided in Exhibit 1) identify 3-4 main competitors
of Atomberg MG 1. Evaluate the competition’s product positioning to derive a
positioning and communication strategy (focus only on deliverable and deliverable
method) of Atomberg MG 1.
Come up with answers to the above-mentioned questions and submit a PDF of 2-3
pages/slides. Use data & assumptions wherever necessary (mention references in case of
usage of external database).
