BEED – 4A Educational Challenges in the Normal

The challenges I encountered in the previous semester that is being discussed in the video
are the following:

• Stakeholder’s Preparedness

- COVID 19-related school closures have caused significant disruptions in

education around the world. As a student, the transition from traditional classes
to online classes has been disastrous, and I am learning much less than before.
As time passed, I get used to it by allowing myself to self-study and comprehend
the lessons on my own, seeking assistance from my classmates, and
researching everything on the internet and notes presented by the teacher.

The switch from online school has been difficult for my parents as well. They lack
the financial means to cover other costs, such as internet and mobile data. I
therefore began working so I could pay for internet connections and be able to
attend online classes.

• Technology

- To adapt to the new standard, students require access to high-quality

technology. It was difficult at first since I couldn't download everything because
my mobile phone didn't have a large storage capacity when I was in class. I take
notes so I may reread and research the lesson the teacher is currently
discussing. I frequently asked my friends also for notes and made copies of
everything they have and I regularly visit Ed's house so I can use the computers
there and attend lessons with her if my phone isn’t working.

• Pedagogy

- Teachers have to adjust to new pedagogical theories and methods of

instruction for which they may not have received academic training. Because
online learning is less interesting than traditional learning, teachers must take
measures to ensure that students will still engage and learn in the new normal.
Being physically inactive from face-to-face classes is difficult for us students.
However, I am able to deal with the new pedagogical approach and procedures
by allowing myself to think positively, push myself to improve, and continue to
study despite the new normal.
