MASTERS OF THE CONVO

Goal: “This is my communication model, in the form of a board game; it’s supposed to display
the communicative process in a fun, interactive way.”

Players:2 Players
Recommended Age:7+
Description:
This ain’t your normal conversation, IT’S EXTREMELY statistical! Like, it’s one step away from just
being D&D in disguise.
The goal in this game is to become, masters of convo! By avoiding/minimizing
miscommunication, preserving the convo, and providing a meaningful social experience.

Rules:
The one in the role of speaker goes first, the speaker role is decided via either a rock paper
scissors match, coin flip etc.

The speaker role will switch between players.

Each time you successfully communicate between each other, you gain +1 point. (Speak-
Feedback=1 point)
If the other person, didn’t understand what u said; or responded wrong, 1 point gets deducted.
“didn’t understand, what u said”: -1 Speaker
“Responded wrong”: -1 Receiver
If you pull off a joke, explain a topic/statement more intricately, or change topics frequently
(certain caveats apply) you’ll gain additional points.

Joke: +5 points (If u don’t pull it off, -2 points)

Topic Lecture (Additional point, however; it must be at least more than 1 sentence. If not, then
add .5)
Caveat(s):
Must be related to the main topic
Must be of “substance”, and add something to the conversation.
Must go well (no miscommunication, or *see miscommunication/ communication breakdown*)

Topic changed:
A topic can be changed every 3-5 turns, with changing the topic after the 4 th turn. For maximum
effect.
After 3 turns: +2 points
After 4 turns: +4 points
After 5 turns: +2 points

Conditions/Effects:

Physical Locations- Any location where communication takes place. It may help with the
conversation, or compromise the approaching interaction; such as:

Movie Theater (+2 to eloquence, -1 to flexibility)

Stand Up Comedy Club (*3 to comedy, -6 points if you don’t land a joke)

Discord Call (+2 flexibility, - 2 to eloquence)

Noise- These barriers, whether they be physical, physiological, or psychological. They will hamper your
ability to communicate efficiently; these are plastered on specific cards, as well as having descriptions as
to what exactly said noise is, as well as the effects they have on your convo.

Examples:

Physical Noise- Diesel Musical:

The humming of vehicles, motors, cars, etc. add the honking of horns, and the sound of cut-up wind, and
you got a pretty loud barrier of entry for effective communication.

Effect: Players must stand apart from each other, and talk into these tin cans.
