Advanced home wiring system is a system that has been widely used nowadays. Such system
is deemed significant and important in the act of integrating the control and management
functions of a specific home’s subsystems. These subsystems comprise the communication
subsystem, entertainment subsystem, home office subsystem, environmental control and
energy management subsystem, and security and property protection subsystem. This so-called
advanced home wiring system does have typically three major components. These components
include the service center, universal multiuse outlets, and high performance cabling. The
service center basically serves as the integral and central part of the system. This service center
functions on accepting the incoming services like cable TV, telephone, digital satellite
transmission, and Internet services. This service center is not only designed for the function of
accepting all incoming communication services but it is also designed to distribute these
services to the designated locations where these services should be received all throughout the
home. This important functions of the service center are the reasons why it was sometimes
being referred to as the central hub or the distribution center. Another component of the
advanced home wiring system is the universal multiuse outlets. From the name itself, universal
multiuse outlets, one can say that these are outlets that are flexible and can be customized
based on the needs of the consumer in terms of acquiring a specific service that he/she desires
for that specific room or part of the building. These outlets are designed to be customized and
be changed every time there is a change that the homeowner wishes to be done on his home’s
wiring system. The third component of an advanced home wiring system is high performance
cabling. Another thing that makes the advanced home wiring system special is that it uses high-
performance cables. These high performance cables include the CAT 5 UTP copper wire and
coaxial cable, which are capable of performing a more advantageous functions over other kinds
of cables. The aforementioned components of the advanced home wiring system are of great
value for such kind of wiring system for without these components, the advanced home wiring
system wouldn’t be considered effective and efficient.
How does the electrical equipment (e.g. motors, generators, and so on) affect
telecommunication signals?
Electrical equipment, in accordance with its definition provided by the lawinsider.com, generally
refers to any appliance, article, accessory, wire, fitting, cable, conduit or apparatus that
generates, uses, conveys or controls (or that is intended to, or has been used to, generate, use,
convey or control) electricity operating above extra low voltage. Electrical equipment, being
related to electricity, is capable of producing a significant and powerful electromagnetic field.
This act of producing an electromagnetic field by an electrical equipment is due to the fact that
electrical equipment uses and generates electrical current flow, thus, allowing this electrical
current flow to produce an electromagnetic field surrounding the specific electrical conductor.
This electromagnetic field produced by an electrical current flow would somewhat affect the
telecommunication signals in a sense that there is an electromagnetic interference. This
electromagnetic interference happens when a telecommunication cable is placed within an
electromagnetic field. This literally means that an electromagnetic interference would kind of
capable of occurring when a telecommunication cable is placed and run adjacent and parallel to
any of the electrical cables. Hence, to avoid electromagnetic interference to happen and for
telecommunication signals to be not affected, telecommunication cables should be placed and
routed away from electrical equipment, should be routed separately from electrical cables per
se.
