a group of unwed teenage mothers who are contemplating either to keep their babies or give them
up for institutional care. Discuss each principle in 3-5 sentences. (5 points each)

1. ACCEPTANCE
Social Worker should accept the reality of the fruit of contemplation of teenage
mothers. Deciding where the babies go does not imply or impose by social worker.
Let the teenage mothers decide. And although these are group it does not mean
the decision of one decision of all, respect for each decision should recognize.
2. PARTICIPATION
Although social worker does not impose a decision on teenage mothers. He/she
may influence their decision by letting the teenage mothers enlighten about their
situations. Helping the teenage letting know their strengths and resource available.
Letting them speak out their opinions.
3. SELF-DETERMINATION
Social Worker is present as a helping person who stands for teenage mothers.
He/she then contributes not just influence on the decision made by the group by
showing to them the consequences or implications of their decision. Although
influence and contribution are present the monopoly of decision is prohibited.

teenage mothers. Concerns, values and attitudes, expectations, goals, etc.; the
group’s level of organization, its goals, its communication, affection and leadership
structure, and other important dynamics, and the environment in which it interacts
are the things that made them different.
5. CONFIDENTIALITY
6. Social workers keep privacy the information shared by each teenage mother. Although
they are in the same group as a teenage mother not all of them have the same experiences
and encounters. And even the client has the right to tell the information always consider
things that are unnecessary to hear that are far from the concern.
7. WORKER’S SELF-AWARENESS
Social worker should aware that his/her way of helping teenage mothers is not an
utang na loob. He/she is aware of his/her strength and limitations.
