Zuleta for children
The Ecuadorian countryside offers many fun activities for
children. Enjoying the outdoors, the animals, gardening, farm-
ing and local traditions makes Hacienda Zuleta the ideal place
for your family vacation.

All our activities are safe. They are suitable for children be-
tween the ages of 5 and 12 years old. If you prefer to unwind
or take advantage of an activity unfit for your kids, we offer
the possibility of organizing for them independent itineraries
under the care of one of our specialized hosts.
Milking a cow
For every delicious breakfast with fresh cheese, yogurt, milk and
butter, we must milk our cows, daily. From this milk, which we
process at the hacienda, fresh and delicious milk is served. Join a
true Zuleteño one afternoon to learn how to milk a cow with your
hands!

Gear: rubber boots, hat/cap and

sunscreen.

Want to be a zuleteño?
Dress like a typical chagra cowboy or zuleteña princess! Tell mom
and dad to dress up as well and take a special souvenir back with
you from the Ecuadorian Andes.

Using the Andean Lasso Duration: 1 hour
Minimum age: 5 years old
Dress like a chagra cowboy with a warm poncho, special chaps and
cowboy hat and learn how to use the lasso. Have fun trying to lasso
your friends or practice on a wooden horse. Called a huasca by the
locals, the leather lassos of the Ecuadorian Andes are used to herd
free-range cattle in the mountains.

Treasure Hunt
Hidden throughout the Hacienda house are 7 treasures. Seek them
out with the use of a GPS and a cell phone. Can you find these trea-
sure chests and the amazing treasures they keep? Then, send a mes-
sage to your peers once you have, so that they can follow your trace!

Building A Straw Hut

Become an architect and build your own straw hut. We will provide
windows, a door and a roof. You will also be able to arrange some
furniture in your new home. And if you’re good at it, make tunnels,
hiding places and secret pathways!

Bonfire
Sit by the fire and warm your bones as the cool night falls on Zuleta
and thousands of stars appear in the sky. Sing songs, listen to ghost
stories, heat some marshmallows on the fire and make super-deli-
cious S’mores!
