Turbine Mechanical Power Test:

In this case, a mechanical dynamometer is used.

1. As directed in steps 1 through 7, turbine has been started.

2. As in steps 9 and 10, turbine speed and all data were recorded.

3. The load screw was adjusted to apply the load. When the load increased, the speed of the
turbine have been lowered.

4. Before we took the readings, we wait until the speed was nearly stable.

5. Repeat the previous step with a 1 N.mm load increment. before the turbine the rotational
speed is less than 3,000 rpm.

6. All the recorded data was calculated.

Saturated Steam Test

The turbine can run on saturated steam (without the use of a super heater) and it can also run on
compressed air. The Turbine Generator and Turbine Mechanical Power Test can be used to conduct tests.

Plant Shutdown

After completing the experiment, the plant shutdown procedures are as follows:

1. We used temporary discharge valve to direct steam from the turbine.

2. The fuel feed to the boiler at the flow meters has been turned off.

3. Exit valve on the boiler was closed. The boiler was allowed to cool down gradually.

4. The cooling water flow to the condenser was turned off.

5. The water supply and drain the condenser was also turned off.

6. The feed water tank was then filled with the condensate.

7. Lastly, the regulator valves on the LPG gas tank have been closed.
