1. INTRODUCTION

One of the popular online shopping websites that I have chosen to review using the document
analysis technique is Shopee, and by uncovering my chosen website’s Requirement Elicitation to see
the requirements needed to be elaborated for my chosen online shopping site. In this document I
will be showing you how Shopee became one of the most famous brands of online shopping by
providing insights about its product scope and specific requirements such as functional and non-
functional requirements.

1.1. Document Purpose

This document is for the sole purpose of showing information about Shopee an online shopping site.
I will be analyzing how Shopee works, as an application website and show you how it functions as a
whole by elaborating and showing how its functional and non-functional requirements work for its
whole system.

1.2. Product Scope

One of the most famous online shopping platforms in SEA, especially here in the Philippines, it is
widely known for its service of providing almost every item that the user wants to have by just
simply using the search or browse button to find the products they wanted to buy, it also has decent
features and perks that the users can use. It is founded by Forest Li in 2015 and first launched in
Singapore, slowly expanding throughout its neighboring countries, it provides an easy access of
items and secure way of deliveries to satisfy its users.

2. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

3.1. Functional Requirements

 User Registration
This is where the user registers to be a member of the web application so you he/she can use
the functions of the website.

 User Profile
This contains the information of the user who logon to the web application, this is where the
user can modify everything from his information, password and more including their shipping
addresses etc.

 Item Search
This is the part of the website, which the user can perform browsing of items through different
areas of the web application, it is organized and well arranged and can be sorted.
 Item Selections
This is where the customer or user can view the items in his/her order history, placing order
status and they can validate their orders and ask for invoices.

 Shopping Security
This is one of the most important parts of the website, security. It helps the website to protect
its assets from attacks of hackers.

 User Login
This is where the user’s login to the web app or application. This is where the user input its
username and password, it also provides changing password or resetting it. This is out of the
secure area of the web application that provides the homepage of the web app.

 Administrative
As we all know Shopee is an administrative type of application which lets its customer to edit
out what they want and use the app to sell the things the way they want in forms that the
system can accept. The system provides an overview of a customers order and generates invoice
and also validates orders. Administrative also helps in its control panel, which helps in deleting
items, selling items, cancelling orders, deactivation of account, changing of passwords and
more.

3.2. Non-functional Requirements

3.2.1. Operational Requirements

The web application can be run through WIFI or internet connection, it can also be used in
browsers, mobile phones and computer devices. It can be installed or downloaded in IOS,
Android and PC.

3.2.2. Performance Requirements

It is a good application that constantly updates you with orders, updates you with the items left
on the item that is in your cart, it also reminds you on your orders and gives you credits for use
and be paid as installment. It also has promos and free shipping functions and more features
that accommodates to its user’s needs.

3.2.3. Security Requirements

The e-commerce application provides good security that protects it users and customers, even
sellers to avoid attacks from people that wants to harm the application and bad or fake
transactions that might affect its users. It is well secured and safe to shop website.

3.2.4. Cultural and Political Requirements

It provides data privacy protection and follow a lot of terms of conditions that accommodates
the suser’s safety. It also provides different use of language for certain regions to allow the user
to use the application easier without any hassles.
