Globalization
The picture above is a concept map that I made about globalization. In my
understanding, globalization is an expansion of ideas, thoughts, business, and technology
with the world. Moreover, Globalization refers to the growing interdependence of economies,
cultures, and populations throughout the world. Briefly means development of nations is
aided by globalization. Several nations work to further globalization for the benefit of
humanity. In the concept map, there are 8 aspects I used to further illustrate the
globalization, such as technological, social, cultural, economic, ecological, geographical,
political, and financial.
Technological: The spread of technology has accelerated due to globalization. We
may utilize the best technologies available worldwide to enhance everyone’s quality life and
economic well-being. Technology is the most significant factor causing the rise of
globalization. According to National Academies Press, the impacts of technological change
on the world economic structure are causing massive transformations in the way businesses
and nations organize production, trade goods, invest in capital, and develop new products
and processes.
Social: Migration has been considerably simpler as a result of globalization, which
has increased transport, communications, and information dissemination among other
things. The growing communications make it easier for businesses to find investment
opportunities
Cultural: Globalization has significantly impacted the cultural realm as well. As
cultural concepts have expanded over the world, it makes easier to access foreign culture,
including foods, arts, and sport. Greater cross-cultural understanding, improved international
cooperation, decreased racism and prejudice, and increased the living standards worldwide
are some significant advantages of globalization in education.
Economic: Because of the expanding scope of cross-border trade in goods and
services, globalization has an impact on the economy through increasing the
interdependence of world economies. As more domestic and international businesses
expand to support the global economy, one of its main benefits is the emergence of new job
opportunities in the market.
Ecological: In terms to the environment, globalization has contributed to the climate
change, which threatens the environment globally. As production levels rise as a result of
businesses seeing an improvement in their financial situation, pollution levels have risen as
a result of their continued exploitation of natural resources.
Geographical: Pursuing the trend of a borderless world, where issues and concerns
rather than nations govern the world, in an effort to improve the quality of life for all.
Political: Regarding the political aspect of globalization, it gave many countries the
freedom to create alliances and affiliations, which improved international contacts and
communications and played a significant role in preserving world peace.
Financial: Global interconnectedness through a network of cities has become
increasingly relevant for developing markets as they link financially with the rest of the world.
In conclusion, I believe that while globalization is incredibly effective, it is also very
unfair.
