following posts:

1. VICE-CHANCELLOR’S OFFICE

1.1 Information and Communication Technology Services (ICTS)


1.1.1 User Support Manager (1 Post)
Qualifications and Experience
 Applicants must have an Honours Degree in Computer Science or its equivalent with
three years relevant experience. A Master’s degree would be an added advantage.
Direct daily operations of the department by establishing priorities, developing
standards and setting deadlines to ensure that Information Technology services
are readily available.

Duties and responsibilities
 Manage backup of the University MIS (Mopane) and security of IT resources.
• Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing
needs and system requirements.
• Assign and review the work of engineers, programmers, and other IT staff
members.
• Ensure the enterprise is abreast of advances in technology.
• Develop computer information resources, providing for data security and
control, strategic computing, and disaster recovery.
 Manage, maintain, upgrade, and monitor the enterprise network;
 Maintain comprehensive records and documentation for all applications and fault
reports.
 Maintain a close cooperation and liaison with external service providers;

1.1.2 Systems Manager (1 Post)
Qualifications and Experience
 Applicants must have an Honours Degree in Computer Science or its equivalent with three
years relevant experience. A Master’s degree would be an added advantage. Oversees
the in-house development of Management Information System. In depth experience
and knowledge of C#, Java, Linux, PHP, LARAVEL Framework and MySQL. Direct
daily operations of the software development unit by establishing priorities,
developing standards and setting deadlines to ensure that Management Information
Systems services are readily available.

Duties and responsibilities

• Planning, scheduling and Coordination of the University MIS (Mopane) system


development and other software development projects.
• Assign ,test and review the work of engineers and programmers, and other IT staff
members.
• Train users on use of Mangement Information system (Mopane)
• Develop computer information resources, providing for data security and control,
strategic computing, and disaster recovery.
• Supervises Engineers and other IT personnel.
 Works with the Systems Engineer to resolve complex technical design issues.

1.1.3 E-Learning Specialist (1 Post)


Qualifications and Experience
 Applicants must have an Honours Degree in Computer Science or its equivalent with
three years relevant experience. This is an individual who has indepth knowledge of
learning management system. Also understands cloud based LMS and self hosted
LMS and open source LMS. The candidate must have experience working with
moodle, Blackboard Learn, a good working knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, REACT
and photoshop.

Duties and responsibilities


 Maintaining and managing University Learning Management System (Moodle)
• Day to day backup of e-learning system.
• Training Lecturers and Students on how to use Learning Management System.
• Intergrating Turnitin anti plagiarism software with University Learning Management System.
 Designing of University Posters
• Web Proxy configurations and maintenance of website
