ABDUCTION

PRESENTED BY GROUP 4
ABDUCTION
Abduction is the act of taking someone away
against his or her will, by either carrying him
away or by convincing him to come away.
The majority of abduction cases includes
children.
The motivation for abduction is typically to
break up a familial relationship, such as taking
a child away from his parents and does not
necessarily mean that the abducted individual
was taken against his will.
An example of abduction is a criminal driving
away with a rich person's child tied up in the
back seat.
TYPES OF
ABDUCTION
NON-VIOLENT
ABDUCTION
While many criminal acts of abduction include physical or sexual violence,
there are instances when the person was tricked into going with the
abductor. Other cases have been built with the accused using some sort of
deception to ensure the victim cooperates in his or her abduction. These
cases may include the perpetrator dressing up as a law enforcement officer,
using blue strobe lights to assist in appearing as police, or using other props
or uniforms to deceive the victim. When the person committing these crimes
has the look of someone official, the victim may comply with demands than
when he or she fears for life.
PARENTAL CHILD
ABDUCTION
It occurs when a person who is connected to a child takes
them away from their country of habitual residence, that is
the country they normally reside in, without the permission
of either those with parental responsibility or the courts.
Most commonly, this takes place following a separation or
divorce and is carried out by the parent who has not been
awarded custody of the child.
These cases often include no force or deception, and the
victim is usually willing or complicit because the kidnapping
party is known to the victim. Abduction charges are usually
issued when the parent is not the one with full custody and
refuses to return the child. Similar cases involve lovers that
refuse to let the other return to his or her parents.
CONSENTED
ABDUCTION
The abduction of a virgin over twelve years and under
eighteen years of age carried out with her consent and with
lewd designs, shall be punished by the penalty of prison
correctional in its minimum and medium periods.
If the virgin is under 12 years of age, the crime committed is
forcible abduction, even if the girl consented to the
elopement.
