I. OBJECTIVES:
A. Content Standards:
The learner demonstrates understanding of: pre-colonial Philippine literature as a means of connecting to
the past; various reading styles; ways of determining word meaning; the sounds of English and the prosodic
features of speech; and correct subject-verb agreement.
B. Performing Standards:
The learner transfers learning by: showing appreciation for the literature of the past; comprehending texts
using appropriate reading styles; participating in conversations using appropriate context-dependent expressions;
producing English sounds correctly and using the prosodic features of speech effectively in various situations; and
observing correct subject-verb agreement.
C. Learning Competencies/ Objectives. Write the LC code for each
Cognitive: Identify the kinds of paragraph.
Psychomotor: Construct a paragraph with a beginning, middle and end.
Affective: value the importance of paragraph as way of imparting or relaying messages.
II. CONTENT: Content is what the lesson is all about. It pertains to the subject matter that the teacher aims to teach in
the CG, the content can be tackled in a week or two.

III. LEARNING RESOURCES: List the materials to be used in different days. Varied sources of materials sustain
children’s interest in the lesson and in learning. Ensure that there is a mix of concrete and manipulative materials as well
as paper based materials. Hands on learning promote concept development.

IV. PROCEDURES:
A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson:
Task 12. Like a Road: Encourage the students to read the situation of two drivers. Let them compare one driver
with someone with fast rate of speech while the other with someone with a slow rate of speech.
B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson:
Have them identify themselves whether they are fast or slow speaker.
C. Presenting examples/instances of the new lesson:
They should explain why speakers need to vary their rate of speech. Instruct them to copy the input on their
notebooks.

Task 13. Connected to the Rules: Encourage the class to write a paragraph on how they save, earn money, or write
about a topic that may be agreed upon by the group.

Then allow them to work as a group in the identification of the paragraph that they have written earlier.
