What lived-experiences/challenges have you encountered in modular learning as


learn-it-yourself mode of study?

Lived-experiences/challenges in modular learning as learn-it-yourself mode of


study that students have encountered are that modular learning is hard and
demanding, time-management are difficult to handle, they are bombarded with
activities with a short amount of time. The students also prefer face-to-face learning for
they are much used to listening lectures directly than self-learning. Some students also
doubt their own understanding of the lessons and not sure whether they served the
correct answer or not. Most of them also suffer from poor internet connection,
distraction, and the insufficient amount of time to answer their modules, they also
stated that it is stressful for some who doesn’t know how to self-educate but there are
also students that knows how to comprehend the lessons and have learned how to self-
taught.

2. Do modules have sufficient source of information as your guide in learning-it-yourself


mode of study? Why?

Students have given their opinion if modules produced sufficient source of


information as their guide in learning-it-yourself mode of study and some of them
stated that modules are incomplete and do give lack of information, examples are too
short to comprehend and lessons have been summarized so some students rely on the
internet for more knowledge and guidance and they tend to say that they prefer face-
to-face learning.

3. Does the assessment of the module for written and performance task fit to the
deadline of retrieval set by the school? Why?
The students have given their thoughts and views if the assessment of the
module for written and performance task fit for the deadline of retrieval that has been
set by the school. Students have stated that deadlines are too short and the given time
is inadequate, some schedules are complicated and some have no exact date of
submission. A student also claimed that teachers sometimes give activities one day
before the deadline so students are forced to adjust and rush to do the activities. Some
also say that modules and chores or jobs overlapped and some are lengthy and needs
to answer in a long amount of time. There are also students who lacks in specific areas
that needs supervision so they eventually don’t past activities beyond their skills. But
there are also students who have learned how to prioritize their academics and
establish responsibility.

4. Does modular learning still meet your interest and motivation to study particularly
self-learning? Why?
The students have given their opinions and ideas if modular learning still meet
their interest and motivation to study particularly self-learning and most of the students
stated that they preferred the face-to-face classes because they ended up relying on
the internet or copying the answer on media sites including brainly, google and more.
Socializing personally with friends and acquaintances also add up to this for studying in
school grounds and being with their friends and classmates are more motivating than
modular learning. But some students also have different opinions about this, students
say that modular learning is interesting and motivational for it gives less stress, and
they are motivated because their parents can see that they are doing the best they can
in their education. They also said that this is a test for them if they are fast learners or
not and pursuing education is their way to be successful.

5. Overall, do you still learn from modules and worksheets made by your teacher as the
temporary mode of learning since face-to-face classes are suspended? Why?
Students had provided their perspective about learning from modules and
worksheets made by their teachers as the temporary mode of learning since face-to-
face classes are suspended and most of the students have stated that they still learn for
they actually read the module and can still get the key points of the lessons but some
students also said that because of modular learning, they depended on the internet for
answers and this had not made them gain new knowledge.
