INSIGHT IN PROFESSOR DAVE’S VIDEO

In the video by Professor Dave, he explains the Endocrine System, which is about our
human body. The video shows that the endocrine is primarily composed of glands, the organ that
secretes a particular compound. According to Professor Dave, these compounds are called
hormones that send messages to cells all over the body. The endocrine system controls the
amount of each hormone released. The number of hormones in the blood and other blood
constituents, such as calcium, may have a role in this. Stress, infections, and alterations in the
fluid and mineral balance of the blood are just a few of the many factors that can impact
hormone levels. The endocrine system's organs are small and dispersed throughout the body. The
endocrine glands are also shown in the film. Unlike the exocrine glands, which create sweat and
saliva, the endocrine glands produce hormones, which are typically delivered into circulation.
The pituitary, pineal, and hypothalamic glands are among these glands; they are all found in the
brain. The movie also displays the thyroid and parathyroid glands. In the neck, in front of the
trachea, are these. The pancreas, adrenal glands, and gonads, which are known as the ovaries for
women and the testes for men, are all located in the lower torso. Since hormone secretion is not
their primary role, other organs, including the small intestine, stomach, kidneys, and heart,
include clusters of endocrine cells. Overall, Professor Dave covered the fundamentals of the
endocrine system and all the glands and hormones that are a part of it. It is true that the
remarkable system of communication is essential for human growth and that hormones' capacity
to move freely throughout our bodies is essential for maintaining our biological functions.
MODULE 1: LESSON 1: SEATWORK #2
1. Differentiate science and technology through Venn Diagram

2. In your own little way how will you solve issues and dilemmas in science and
technology?
Solving issues in science and technology require the application of scientific
methods and also engineering. Science is how we rationally interpret the natural world.
We use engineering and technology to put what we understand from science to use for
ourselves. As a student, I must be knowledgeable about the nature of the problem to
contribute to solving the issues in science and technology. It will also be easier for me to
describe to other people what the issue is all about.
3. Why is it important to know the moral and ethical issues in science and technology?
Moral and ethical concerns are as significant as scientific and technical
advancements. Our ability to acquire a systematic knowledge of both natural and human
reality and to enhance the circumstances of our material life is made possible by science
and technology. Ethics enables us to recognize moral principles whose implementation
enhances our internal existence and strikes a balance between our society and individual
lives. Man employs science and ethics as two essential elements to experience a pleasant
life, discover his true nature, and strive for perfection. Studying values in the area of
human action is part of ethics.
