FANCY Baseball Cap (with option for simple version)

Prepare the cut by uploading to Design Space (or your software). Decide if you are going to do the fancy
version with decorative panels or just the simple version. You can hide or delete the panel type that you
won’t need. If you are doing the no-panels simple version, you can hide or delete the decorative
“triangles” as well.

1. Change the stitches to draw. These will be drawn on the panels or the decorative panels
depending on which you are doing. If doing the simple version, change the brim piece to white.
2. Attach the draw-lines to the panels.
3. Check to see that any other cuts are attached as necessary.
4. Make 7 copies of the triangle panel, and four each of the decorative panels, if using. You will
need a total of 8 to form the hemisphere for the top.
5. Cut as normal and assemble as shown below
Start by making the top part of the cap. Glue the Triangle pieces into a hemisphere and use the octagon
with the large tab to glue to the bottom to reinforce and provide a hinge.
Glue the hinge tab to the large octagon.

Using the pieces below, glue the two strips end to end to form an octagonal frame, and attach them to
the base.
Glue the smaller of the octagon shapes to the center of hat base. This just serves to reinforce the hat.
Add the liner to the box form. And glue the brim trim to the brim. Glue the box to the center of the
bottom part of the hat top. Be sure it closes easily over the box.
Attach the panels to the top of the hat, and add the little circular “button” at the top. Put whatever logo
you like on the front panel of the hat, and you’re done!
