When I became a professional in my field, I started on a VOIP
company, but by that time there was a lot of VOIP protocol like
MEGACO(h.248) and h.323 using a famous and old Gatekeeper,
then we started the transition to SIP (Session Initial Protocol)
using and Asterisk or a Cisco gateway to join both (SIP and H.323)
protocol in order to communicate that different worlds, and at last we
start to use SER (kamalio on this time), researching and testing SIP
protocol solutions and at the same time, managing the servers in the
development department of the company. Of course in the middle of
all I learned about database (MYSQL, Postgresql), script(Bash, Perl,
PHP, C , Python)

SIP Server
This project consisted in made a benchmark between different SIP Proxies
(server of voip protocol SIP). The programming languages used were C and
Linux script. Tasks:
• Configuration and testing of Asterisk as SIP proxy.
• Configuration and testing of SER (SIP Express Router) as SIP proxy.
• Configuration and testing of OPENSER (Open SIP Express Router) as SIP
proxy.

The project consisted in the use and configuration of a Cisco Gateway as SBC,
in other words a bridge between two different VOIP networks.
• Configuration and use of Cisco 1760 as SBC from SIP/H323 to MFCR2 to
SIP.
• Configuration and use of Cisco 5300 as SBC from SIP/H323 to ISDN to SIP.
Protocol Converter
The project consisted in be able to communicate two different Voip networks
(H323 and SIP) using Asterisk Open Source as protocol converter.
MGC (Media Gateway Controller)
The project consisted in develop a mini- MGC(Media Gateway Controller) over
erlang language programming using an Audiocodes gateway as a MG (Media
Gateway) with the goal to have a quite knowledge of MEGACO VOIP.
Gatekeeper (H323 protocol)
The project consisted in research the voip protocol H323 gatekeeper, the
installation and testing of an Open-Source gatekeeper.
