Polygon
Polygon comes from Greek word, poly means “many”,and -gon
means “angle”. A regular polygon has all angles equal and all sides
equal, if not they are called irregular polygons.

Routine Problem
-is a type of problem that has an immediate solution.
1. A square has four equal sides if one of the side is (3m +5)
cm, what is the measure of each sides of a square? (hint: m=4)

A. Understand: Measure of each sides of a regular polygon

B. Given : s=(3m + 5) cm
C. Plan: s=(3m + 5) cm
D. Solve: s=[3(4) + 5) cm
= (12 + 5 ) cm

E .Answer: S=17cm each side of a square

2. If the total length or perimeter of a side of a regular pentagon is 40
inches, what is the length of each side of a pentagon?
P= 40in

A. Understand: measure of each sides of a regular pentagon

B. Given : P=40 in.
C. Plan: P=5s
D. Solve: P=5s
40 = 5s
40/5 = 5𝑠/5

Regular Polygon has an equal measures of interior angle.

Sum of the angles of a regular polygon =(n-2)180º, where n is the number

sides.
Sum of the angles of a triangle = (3-2) 180º
= 1(180º)
= 180º divide it to 3 (angles)
= 60º each angle of a regular polygon
