Analysis
1. What is the importance of studying cell in learning about animals?
It is important to know and understand how organisms function, that is why
we study about cells. In learning about animals, studying cells helps us understand
how cells work in an animal. For an instance, we get to know that an animal is healthy
or unhealthy through cell study, in this way we can easily know if a particular animals
has a disease and immediately develop new and more effective medicines to cure it. At
the same time, through cell study we were able to find out the genetics of animals and
their DNA’s.

2. What makes the cell as the basic structural unit of all life forms?
Because cells are essential in performing various actions or life processes
required for sustaining life. It is the basic structural unit of all life forms because all
living things: plants, animals and human beings has cells all over our body. Our body
is made up of cells, the organs are composed of cells that makes it work and produce
energy allowing the body to function. Same as to plants and animals, plant cells are
responsible for the plants growth whereas to animal cell it is responsible for
producing energy for the animal’s body helping the animals to move.

3. What makes animals differ from plant cell in terms of their cellular structure and
functions?
Plant cells have a cell wall that surrounds the cell membrane, this gives pant
cells its rectangular shape. Also plant cells contains chloroplast allowing it to perform
photosynthesis in order to generate energy, while animal cells do not. Animal cells are
round in shape because of not having the presence of cell wall that protects the cell
membrane.

Application
What is/are the important contribution/s of studying animal cells in agroforestry?
Agroforestry incorporates tree crops that can enhance important cycle of
nature. Agroforestry provide numbers of environmental benefits like climate change ,
biodiversity conservation , soil health environment and air and water quality improvement.
As part of the ecosystem, animals role in agroforestry is cleaning after fallen fruits and
other organic waste, grazing and weed maintenance because some animals eats grass . At

the same time, animal waste or manures helps in fertilizing the soil good for plant’s
growth. The study of animal cell helps in the reproduction of animals , keeping the balance
of the agroforestry.
