WHO WE ARE
The ultimate objective of the Directorate-General for Communication (DG COMM) is to help
build the reputation of the EU by showcasing its democratic legitimacy, embodied in the
European Parliament. This entails providing complete and impartial information to citizens
and media about the European Parliament, and assisting Members in their communication
activities. We strive to reach the right audience with the right message at the right time and
in doing so, deliver world-class communication.

We are committed communication professionals coming from various professional and


academic backgrounds.

The Web Communication Unit of the European Parliament is for digital story tellers. We
produce a wide range of editorial products for the general public about what is happening in
the Parliament, namely; stories, videos, infographics, newsletters, gifs, and live interviews
with MEPs and influencers etc. We think distribution before production: we publish on the
News section of the European Parliament website but also on ten social media platforms:
Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, Flickr, Pinterest, Reddit, and
Spotify.

Because we do this simultaneously in 24 languages, we are a multinational group, with one


editor per language. We also have a team of social media producers, video producers,
community managers, data analysts, and projects managers. We nurture the together.eu
community, gather social media intelligence and much more.

YOUR TASKS
Writing articles about the work of the European Parliament in your language for the news
website;
Researching current topics and legislation for articles and infographics;
Translating infographics and other content related to Parliament’s work;
Producing content for European Parliament social media accounts;
Social media community management;
Email marketing for together.eu.
YOU ARE
Passionate about social media and digital media in general;
Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment;
Desired background: journalism and digital journalism (university degree or equivalent
and/or professional experience);
Very good knowledge of at least one of the social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter,
LinkedIn) and tools;
Experience with graphic software (Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator ...) and/or
video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects) is a plus;
Strong written and oral communication skills;
In-depth knowledge of one of the official languages of the European Union;
Good level of English;
Organised;
Good team player;
Someone who can take the initiative;
A fast learner;
Trustworthy.
