Design Loop
 The process on the previous line was called the design
loop.
 Design loop is:
 list of criteria and constraints following by problem you have
to solve.
 Research

 Develop ideas
Step 1:Define The Problem
 I explain to freshmen in school how to search for a
topic. They will need to understand what are
reliable sources and to see what makes them
reliable. What is a great starting point and how to
paraphrase any good information? Also how to cite
the sources and the information you get on
benefiting from it.
Step 2: Background Information
 Defining exact problem forming right question
 Search terms trying to find something exactly specific
questions
 Know what your searching for and try to use key word
that are given in the problem.
 If your using Google chrome you can use the search
bar to make it easier to search everything you need.
Step 3: What your looking for
 Wiki is a starting point but not a great source.
 Any sources that end in .gov .org .edu are really
reliable sources.
 I click the first one since it seemed like a really reliable
source.
Seeing if the source is reliable.
 Brief the document or source to see if there is any
inappropriate things not relating to the source.
 Is that source what you were looking for?
 Is the source elementary, middle or high school level
or college level.
 Source up to date.
How to apply the research
 When looking at the source see what information is
needed and which information isnt.
 When writing down information you need paraphrase
not copy down word for cause that is plagiarism.
After applying the research
 After the research you need to cite your sources.
 Make sure to put the author of the cite the main title
ad the url.
Develop your ideas
 Now with all your information you need to apply to
your problem or challenge
 Create a morph chart
 Make sketches or layouts
Generate a Solution
 After developing your ideas make a prototype or model
 Use what you learn in your research and apply to the
model and prototypes.
Test and evaluate
 After making the model see what you research help
you solve your problem.
 Did your research define the problem,
 Or see if what you research didn’t help solve the
problem.
Document the process
 After this all done you should have been recording
each day on your progress through this project.
 Have a biography page with all the sources you had.
