CASE STUDY
Is Fetal Endangerment a Mother's Right?
1. The medical staff is required to maintain the fetus from acquiring diabetes while keeping her
secure and under close observation and taking all essential precautions. She should still get
assistance and counseling even if she reacts rudely or poorly so that she can understand the
possible consequences of her actions. When dealing with patient rights, you must be aware that if
a patient is not satisfied, they have the right to leave, object, or file a complaint negative deeds or
conduct, yet Jane does not exhibit any of these because she must take care of her diabetes in
addition to the fetus' health, which is extremely important.
2. A court order is necessary since there are other options besides keeping her in the hospital it's
not always necessary to make sure she gets the proper care and medication.
