General info about TXI2.Open

 The data point limit is increased from 100 to 160 data points
 2 Ethernet interfaces are available:
• Use for local engineering with a network cable
• Use for remote engineering and remote diagnosis
• Modbus TCP/IP is also supported and can work simultaneous with Modbus RTU

• If remote access (TXI2 mode) is necessary then the FW of the PXC controller
(PXC50/100/200) should be upgraded to the respective FW versions (V4.1,
V5.0, V5.1, V6.0) which are available in XWP V6.1.
• For the PXC22.1 and PXC36.1 there is only a firmware for V6.0.
• For remote access to the TXI2.Open module a separate IP address and interface
have to be foreseen on the network switch
• Via Daisy Chain only other TXI2.Opens may be connected, do no connect other
devices after the TXI2.Open
• When remote access is disabled it is strongly advised not to connect the Ethernet
ports. The modules have a default factory IP address and can go into an
undefined state if connected to a network.
• A reset button
• Reset the device in case of a hang-up
• Reset to factory settings: when Password problems, IP address problems
• Note that when the TXI2 module is connected to the PXC (islandbus) the PXC
will write the configured IP address again to the module through the islandbus.

Compatibility mode

If it would not be possible to load the PXC controller with the newest FW (V4.1, V5.0, V5.1, V6.0)
(example validated installation) then the TXI2.Open module can be programmed in the
compatibility mode. In this mode the PXC controller recognizes the TXI2 module as a TXI1.Open
module. In this mode remote access is not possible and there are only 100 points available. The
module can be loaded only through the default IP address.
If you programmed your TXI2.Open in the normal mode (not compatibility mode) and
afterwards you want to switch your module to the compatibility mode then you have to
un assign your devices from the TXI2 module, delete the module, recreate the module and set
the compatibility mode flag. From this point on you don’t have access anymore to the TCP/IP
address of the module in the network configurator. If you can’t communicate anymore with your
TXI2 you can force a factory reset so the module gets the default IP address 192.168.252.2
again.
After a factory reset you have to reload the TXI2 module: firmware, protocol, IOOCD …
Factory reset see further at the end of the document.

Build and test a Point Template for Modbus TCP/IP
For Modbus RTU see the engineering workflow of V6.0 SP

I use 2 batch files to find my RC template libraries and HQ libraries...

We are going to use a V4 PAC3200 Modbus RTU counter template
And convert it to a Modbus TCP/IP counter …

Open template and set Test mode

Sometimes a strange error when setting the IP address

If error then you simply type in the TCP/IP address in the box
