Why STEAM at Dowell?
At Dowell, our goal is to invest in our students’
future by inspiring them to be innovative think-
ers and learners. A STEAM enriched curriculum
has been proven to reach a variety of diverse
learning styles. Our student population has very
diverse needs and STEAM instruction helps to
make every learner feel successful. By incorpo-
rating and integrating STEAM practices in our
existing curriculum, we are equipping our stu-
dents to be the innovators of tomorrow. STEAM
provides students with an opportunity to im-
merse themselves in problem solving and hands-
on learning situations, thus preparing for careers
that have yet to be fathomed.
Goals of STEAM at Dowell
• Equip our students with problem solving
skills that better prepare them to be global
thinkers
• Provide opportunities for students to collab-
orate with their peers and to actively work
together to problem solve real world situa-
tions
• Increase classroom engagement by providing
hands-on learning experiences and exposure
to more fine arts within their world
• Provide unique learning opportunities be-
yond the curriculum to inspire and challenge
our students to their highest potential
