EXPERIMENT NO: - 9
Theory: -
Most software engineering projects are risky because of the range of
serious potential problems that can arise. The primary benefit of risk
management is to contain and mitigate threats to project success. You must
identify and plan, and then be ready to act when a risk arises—drawing upon the
experience and knowledge of the entire team to minimize the impact to the
project.
Risk Avoidance
Risk Monitoring
Risk Management and contingency planning. Proactive approach to risk-
avoidance strategy. Develop risk mitigation plan. Develop a strategy to
mitigate the risk for reducing turnover. Meet the current staff to
determine causes for turnover. Mitigate those causes that are under our
control before the project starts.
Organize project teams so that information bout each development
activity is widely dispersed.
Define documentation standards and establish mechanisms to be sure that
documents are developed in a timely manner. Project manager monitors
for likelihood of risk. Project manager should monitor the effectiveness
of risk mitigation steps. Risk management and contingency planning
assumes that mitigation efforts have failed and that the risk has become a
reality. RMMM steps in cut additional project cost.
software tools. It will not be explored as a potential risk because all planning
will be done without considering their use.
Implementation: -
Description:
Hardware fails.
Unauthorized access to or use of data.
Human error.
Refinement/Context:
Hardware fails due to loss of database server.
Unauthorized access via web server.
Mitigation/Monitoring:
These types of problems found and simultaneously solutions to those
problems should also be found.
Contingency Plan/Trigger:
Experts should be hire in case of emergency
As computed the risk exposures to be Rs 35,000
Develop revised schedule and allocate more skilled staff accordingly
Conclusion: -
Thus, we have successfully studied about the Preparation of Risk
Mitigation, Monitoring and Management Plan (RMMM).
