Start-up and operation instruction for TITAN rings

For TITAN rings, the traditional running-in procedure has been replaced by a specific start-up
instruction.
The running track of the TITAN ring has already an ideal surface for the traveller.
Do not clean the rings when installing, respectively do not remove the oil layer which was
applied by Bräcker. This oil layer acts as an additional lubrication until the fibre film is build up
by the traveller.

Maximum ring load

In order to prevent any damage of the TITAN ring, one should not exceed the ring load as
indicated in the diagram / table below.

Traveller wear, insufficient lubrication
In order to prevent premature ring wear check the traveller wear rate and traveller
wear pattern at running-in and normal operation. With this two parameters one can
judge if the ring load is within the limits and fibre lubrication is sufficient.

Normal traveller wear Excessive traveller wear Abnormal traveller wear

Working condition ok. If more than 20% of If abnormal wear is noticed,
checked travellers show reduce spindle speed.
heavy wear, reduce spindle Insufficient fibre lubrication
speed until normal traveller causes a wear pattern as
wear is achieved. shown in the picture above.

LIABILITY
Bräcker takes no liability for damaged rings if instructions as described before
are not followed. This must be followed for the running-in as well as for regular
operation.

Warning
Use adequate eye protection with the use of rings and travellers!

Maximum spindle speeds are indicated in the attached tables.
