A computer keyboard is an input device used to enter characters and functions into the computer system by pressing buttons,
or keys. It is the primary device used to enter text. A keyboard typically contains keys for individual letters, numbers and special characters,
as well as keys for specific functions. A keyboard is connected to a computer system using a cable or a wireless connection.

Most keyboards have a very similar layout. The individual keys for letters, numbers and special characters are collectively called
the character keys. The layout of these keys is derived from the original layout of keys on a typewriter. The most widely used layout in the
English language is called QWERTY, named after the sequence of the first six letters from the top left.

FIVE PARTS/SECTIONS ON THE KEYBOARD

1. Numeric keys (calculator keys): These are activated by pressing the Num lock key. They are located on the right-hand side of the keyboard.

2. Alphanumeric keys: These keys are located at the central part of the keyboard. They are used for typing letters, numbers and notations into the
computer.

3. The Cursor-control keys: These keys control the position of the cursor on the screen. They include insert, del, home, end, page up, page down and the
arrow keys (right, left, up and down arrow keys).

4. Function keys: These keys are command keys. They could be ten (F1-F10), twelve (F1-F12) or fifteen (F1-F15) depending on the type of keyboard.

5. Special keys: These keys include the other keys such as print screen, pause or break, window, power, alt, ctrl, tab, shift, scroll lock ,insert ,num lock,
caps lock and toggle keys. Toggle keys are keys that are turned on/off by pressing the same key. Examples are num lock which turns on the calculator
keys and caps lock which is used for turning on the letter keys to upper case.
