Schematic Diagram

Procedures:

1. Prepare the needed materials for soil moisture sensor set-up.


2. Prepare the Laptop.
3. Open the Arduino program.
4. Insert microcontroller using USB connector to the laptop USB port.
5. Open the device manager and check the port.
6. Go to the Arduino software.
7. Click the tools and click the port then choose the COM port of your
microcontroller.
8. Click the verify and wait.
9. Upload the program to the microcontroller.
10. Unplug the microcontroller from the laptop.
11. Connect the positive terminal of the sensor board to the positive
terminal of the soil moisture sensor module.
12. Connect the negative terminal of the sensor board to the negative
terminal of the soil moisture sensor module.
13. Connect the Vcc header of the soil moisture sensor module to the
positive terminal of the breadboard using a female to male jumper wire.

14. Connect the GND header of the soil moisture sensor module to the
ground line of the breadboard using a female to male jumper wire.
15. Connect the analog A0 header of the rain sensor module to the pin AO
connector of the microcontroller using a female to male jumper wire.
16. Connect the anode terminal of the red led to the pin 3 connector of the
microcontroller using a female to male jumper wire.
17. Connect the cathode terminal of the red led to the ground line of the
breadboard using a female to male jumper wire.
18. Connect the anode terminal of the green led to the pin 2 connector of
the microcontroller using a female to male jumper wire.
19. Connect the cathode terminal of the green led to the ground line of the
breadboard using a female to male jumper wire.
20. Connect the positive line of the breadboard to the pin 5v connector of
the microcontroller using a female to male jumper wire.
21. Connect the ground line of the breadboard to the ground connector of
the microcontroller using a female to male jumper wire.
22. Plug USB data cable to the USB port of the Arduino board.
23. Observe the LED action.
24. Record the current LED status of red led and green led.
25. Insert the soil into the soil moisture sensor board.
26. Record the current LED status of the red led and green led.
27. Remove the soil .
28. Record the current LED status of the red led and green led.
