Name: Jasper John Mangonon

A29

                                  The Transamerica

The name of the protagonist in the movie before reveal to her family or friends
that she was transgender her name is Stanley Schupak, she changed her name to
Sabrina Claire Osbourne and she was also known as "brie", the month she was born
was November 6, 1964 according to the Police Id when she was looking for her son.
Her occupation is Missionary in Church and after surgery she was a dishwasher at a
Mexican restaurant

She wants to portray to viewers that’s she’s a woman, for her to be able to cope
with the society that she knows many people will judge her gender, she hides it from
people. She told her psychologist about the incident everything so that she could let go
of her negative emotions or shame she was feeling.

The psychologist not allowed her to undergo the surgery because she finds out
that she is sexually active 17 years ago and she finds out that she has a teenage son
named Toby, the psychologist suggest to think twice before is take the surgery because
there is no going back when the surgery is already done.

At first, she couldn't believe that he had a child because she didn't believe it
might be another scam. Because this kind of scam is being done by teenagers or kids
that are homeless and are scamming other families.

Some of her friends was supporting her to have a surgery but her mother
disgrace her when the mother finds out that she is a transgender. But her decision is
never change even thought a lot of negative comments from other people specially from
her son.

For me, society should accept that we have the right to choose the sex or gender
we want, which is truer and happier for ourselves specially for those who are confuse
for their gender.  This will be good new if the gender reassignment is being legalized for
LGBT+ community because other people's negative comments will be lessened
because they will have knowledge about Gender Reassignment.

before learning all about the gender reassignment I thought the society already
accept the fact there are people who are transgender or undergoing gender
reassignment, after learning about gender reassignment from the movie a lot of people
still discriminate or still not accept that people are not like them.

Before watching the film, I used to think that a lot of people already accept that
there are people who change their gender so they can accept themselves and become
a person they want. After watching the film It's not just people you don't know who won't
accept you, but also your family, whom you thought would always be there for you, but
they're the ones who will embarrass you.
