Abstract

Parents influence their children through specific practices, like encouraging them to play

outdoors, or helping them with their homework. But parenting is more than a set of

specific practices. What about the overall approach that parents take to guiding,

controlling, and socializing their kids? The attitudes that parents have about their

children, and the resulting emotional climate that creates? As students, we need to have

a role model in our lives and someone to look up to. However, it is not always the case,

there will always be a conflict on how the parents interact with their children on how they

react on the behavior or how they do their tasks accordingly. There are 4 different types

of parenting style namely: Authoritative, authoritarian (Disciplinarian), permissive

(Indulgent), and neglectful (Uninvolved), by implementing these 4 different parenting

styles, there are different outcomes and possibilities that might occur because they

have different attitudes and behavior where a different parenting style might improve

their capabilities or knowledge about academic performance and it might also restrict a

student for achieving his/her desired outcome if a wrong parenting style is implemented

on them. The research design of this study is quantitative method along with personally

made questionnaire that aids the inquiries of the title. Descriptive research explains the

overall traits and characteristics of the respondents of the study, thus addressing the

“what” questions of the research, the quantitative method used in the study explores the

relationship between variables using statistical analyses identifying whether a specific

variable has a significant relationship with other variables The research intervention

involves gathering of data using survey questionnaire that will be implemented with the

students of Little Shepherd Business and Science High School Students.
