Time

• 3 sessions, approx. 20 minutes each

o Session 1 – Orientation to SVT Simulator & baseline measurements
o Session 2 – Pacing maneuvers overview and observation
o Session 3 – Pacing stimulation practice

Learning Objectives

• Discuss and demonstrate the pacing maneuvers and conduction measurement

commonly seen during an EP Study
• Trainees will gain a better understanding of pacing maneuvers and conduction
measurements seen during an EP Study

Activity

• Session 1:
o Orient trainee to the controls of the SVT Sim using instructions provided. Discuss
similarities / differences they will see compared to Cardiac Stimulators in the lab
▪ Have trainee pause SVT Sim screen and perform baseline measurements
▪ Sinus Cycle Length ▪ HV
▪ AH ▪ QRS
▪ PR Interval ▪ QT

• Session 2:
o Have trainee repeat baseline measurements using Basic Mode
▪ Sinus Cycle Length ▪ HV
▪ AH ▪ QRS
▪ PR Interval ▪ QT
o Discuss and demonstrate pacing maneuvers
▪ Incremental / Decremental pacing
▪ Programmed Extra Stim
▪ Entrainment

• VERP – 600 200
• VA Wenckebach @ 330
▪ Entrainment practice
• Use Typical Flutter mode
• CL 225 msec
• Pace from RA1 @ 220
• Pace from CSp @ 220

o Discuss results and expected outcomes throughout pacing.
