This document contains 10 mood board entries describing potential designs for a protective box for displaying a ceramic plate. Entry 4 describes a design with a tab closure and cut-out window for viewing the plate covered with a plastic page protector. Entry 6 features a bottom piece that pulls out to insert and remove the plate and a see-through hole at the top to view the plate. Entry 8 suggests using an existing box designed to hold multiple items as it would likely protect a plate from breaking if dropped.

the top of the box to cut out a square. Then we can put the plastic page protector inside the square to hold up the square and cover the hole.
2. This design will be useful
because we wouldn’t have to disassemble the whole box to get the whole plate. Unlike the other designs this box can open and close with no problems. This box will also work because it already looks pretty padded itself on the inside.
3. This design will work
because you can see your plate and you can adjust it accordingly. The plate can be protected because this box is designed to hold and protect desserts. 4. Using this design we can easily use the tab to close and open the box. We will ensure that the tab is tightly down when we close the box so there is no risk of damage to the plate or it falling out. Then, we will cut a hole in the top lid so we can see the plastic plate. We will also use the plastic pg. protector to cover the hole.
5. This design is more like a
donut box and obviously the top is open so we can see the plate. We would create the box out of the poster board. Also, we will use the tape and hot glue to make sure all edges and sides are in place.
6. This design seems very
easy when it comes to inserting and removing the ceramic plate. However, we will have to make sure the bottom piece that pulls out is very secure using the masking tape and hot glue. Next, we will cut a see-through hole at the top of the box so we can see the plate ofc. 7. This design is very similar to number 6 but the see through hole is just in the front of the bottom piece. We would follow through the same steps as number 6.
8. This box is actually made to
hold/protect many items. So if we put a plate in this box and drop it, it most likely won’t break. The box will most likely work for this project.
9. This design to the left seems
very unreasonable and I can’t see us doing this unless we absolutely had no plan. This is because the top could easily fall off and we can’t tape the top then untape it after taking or placing the plate in the box.
10. I’m not certain this design
can protect the plate. But, if we put extra padding around our plate it could work. It has all the right features but if we add a few things like padding it definitely protect the plate.
